The old lady next door (long passed now) had a Meteor sedan. One day I spotted her as she pulled into her ultra long driveway, shortly followed by crrrruch....crrrash!! Looked over the fence and she had crashed right through the back wall of the detached garage.

Was quite amusing really, she was always a grumpy old thing. Blamed me for chipping the concrete on the edge of her driveway/gutter, when it was clearly her son who had an old bomb with dual exhaust pipes hanging out the back, which were then scraping the driveway as he would leave. She then decided to paint the chips white for some reason. Also had a go at me for apparently dropping leaves on her driveway while working in the garden, when it was actually black birds nesting in the shrubs lining the fence on her property.

PS. I'm worried about the radiator airflow on that Meteor.

Regarding the above posts.....
I don't know the models well enough, but I swear this wagon had Laser badging.
??

Thought I was looking at a Laser wagon.

DFB, I grew up next to a grumpy couple too. As a kid, you were always doing something wrong that made her worse. And he was just as bad.

It did have Laser badging. However some years the Laser wagon was called the Meteor wagon instead. When the wagon was introduced in 1986 it was badged Meteor, but the badging swapped in 1987 to Laser (same with the sedan). All made in Sydney of course, a casualty of the Button plan.

My next door neighbour loves telling me stories about what a cantankerous fella the guy that used to live in my house was

Yeah the KC to KE changeover saw the end of the Meteor badge pretty much.

Speaking of which .... just watched a FULLBOOST video of an XF GHIA.
Its quick ... and the only really obvious thing from outside you tell it was making decent power was the rear tyre size.

OK it was modified ... but it was kept fairly true to its era.

Wasn't the wagon imported? I thought only the sedans and hatches were built here?

Avenger is rare as 782 were sold (and only 353 remain registered), but Altima much less so with 4648 sales (with 4194 remaining).

Yes ... had a set of Snowflakes narrowed and widened to use for rear radials and front runners as well. To keep period look at the track.

And hunted for the factory velour trim to have his driver's race seat trimmed in it as well to look more factory.

ZF or ZG Fairlane, red and unmolested with all the chrome trim in place.

Being one of my favourite models, it was a big highlight to spotto during a dreary drive into the office yesterday.

He turned off too quickly

Nice photos of the 1992 Laser wagon. They were quite rare - only about 700 were sold in 1992. No idea why Ford didn't offer a KF wagon in Australia, as the USA got an Escort wagon.

This morning I saw a VC Valiant Safari V8 with a trailer pull in to the local servo. It was in pretty good condition for what appears to be a daily driver.

We've got 8 of us in the court with loud modified V8s Commodores, and I get the blame for all 8 of us with one of our neighbors, even though my car has moved once in about two years

New neighbor has a nice VZ SS Commodore thats cammed with a straight through exhaust, with a very lumpy idle, that makes 9 of us now.

There's also guy with a loud AF 1960s Impala wagon who gives it to it going past his house to rile him up.
