Why is it that a slab of CUB cans is now in a box with 4 stoopid 6pac cardboard thingos that the cans always fall out off?

Appreciate the plastic ramifications.. However, a little more ingenuity could have gone into the open-ended cardboard afterthoughts?

…Two people (I’m avoiding identification of gender ) can have a discussion about how to work around having a dead electric jug when there is an open Kmart 2km away, and a car to hand?
$15, done, and they can chew the fat on something more sensible… It’s like calling a meeting for every minor detail rather than relying on people to use initiative. |

everyone was outraged when manufacturers advertised their latest cars appearing to speed, while a bank can have a car, power sliding around corners, swerving around obstacles at speed chasing a house while another one literally falls apart as its going down the road.

Why is it that people believe what they are told on TV, even when it is contrary to what they see with their own eyes every day around them.

Why is it that 6 o’clock TV news readers stand up for the first 10 minutes?

Why is it an increasing number of businesses which operate 24 hours per day are introducing night windows? I refuse to use any business which treats me like a criminal.

…Most people complain about government taxes and levies - yet when a fiscal benefit is extended to them without dire need, have little compunction about using it up?

…Our much-vaunted Antarctic research and resupply icebreaker, why is it still broken?
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-02-...tion/101913218 I’d have thought they could have long done a “worst case scenario” audit of its risks and programmed work in a logical order. Instead, it lurches from unexpected failure to unexpected failure. |

If you did some research you would discover most people in Australia are law abiding citizens.

Not really an issue for law abiding citizens. Another barrier to stop those who want to rob and/or assault the workers though. No ****en way I'd want to work in a servo.

The reason a business takes measures to protect itself (and it's staff) from crims is because the risk is there (risk being both a function of likelihood AND consequence). Just as a business takes out insurance to protect itself from actions that may have a significant impact on it, despite the likelihood of the event occurring being relatively low. Or the same as all cars having seat belts, despite the majority of drivers never having to need them in their lifetime. But, you have the right to feel aggrieved by the measures a business takes to protect itself, its staff and its customers. You also have the right to shop somewhere else where you don't feel so aggrieved.

Why is it some people seem to lack the ability to put two and two together?
Forum member makes a post about the horrible noise emanating from his engine. You know the sort, thud thud thud, tap tap tap tap. Clearly something is very wrong. The usual assortment of suggestions follow as to what it could be, along with a number of questions to the OP. The OP then slowly starts adding quite telling information, piece by piece, post by post. So, the owner ended up rebuilding his engine at some point, ignoring the importance of measuring tolerances, while also adding a number of aftermarket parts. He then had it tuned, allowing him to rev the engine to 8100rpm, stating that he "would be revving higher but the car doesn’t make more power." Keep in mind this is a Gen-2 Coyote V8 that has a factory 6,800rpm rev limit. So, an engine rebuilt by a novice not following procedure, tuned and then revved up to and beyond 8,100rpm. Well, derrr! No bloody wonder it's got terminal sounding rod knock.
