I made these at work today. They came up better than I had envisaged.

I did and am surprised to see such a place exists in the middle of nowhere.

Are you sure they were French and not from one of their former colonies?

I took my express on the freeway the other day, it was maxed out at 100kph with the doors flapping in their jambs like dumbo ears, I thought I was going to die.

At any freeway speeds when i had an L300 the mirrors would start to fold in. But since i had the van, i moved into a ranger, and since december ive been in a new triton with a sweet service body on the back. Not as much space in the back as a van, but the finer things in life are nice. A crumple zone, abs brakes, airbags, dsc, just the anti death things you dont get in a tin can.

2 things today. 1st is basic. But the cafe that does baked beans on toast has re opened, and they havent forgotten how i like it. And getting fire wood on my way home and starting the fire pit. Im out of tree trimmings, so i have to now cave and buy fire wood. But $12 for 15kgs, yeah i could probably find cheaper, but iga is down the street, so i dont mind. And ive worked out the way to make the small pit retain more heat and burn the bigger slow burn stuff off and output more heat. My mates didnt beleive me untill i proved a bbq plate on top does the trick.

I pay for the convenience. Plus when i had my pile of trees, out of courtesy to my neighbors, id have to get home from work then straight on the chainsaw at a reasonable hour to cut things up. After work i like to vegitate for a while before i have to actually do anything. Although i will say, after so much use its had, my cheap chainsaw now cold starts 2nd pull. And ive found a chain i like.

I was over the phone tech support for my mum. She had the nbn installed and all her claims was it doesnt work. She doesnt live local to me. Anyhow, 29 days no interweb. She also couldnt connect to her printer. So i asked is her wireless router plugged in? She said the installer said she didnt need it. Thats correct, however she wasnt told to connect her devices to the new wireless modem. To make my life easier i just said plug the black wireless router into the new modem. Yep, all her stuff connected and now has interwebs. So there was a gross lack of communication between the nbn people and my non technical old person mother. But hey, she understood my explination. Now i just have to make the time to re jiggle the phone line stuff to make her land line phones work at the phone points in her place. Thats not rocket surgury. But seemingly too hard for installers.

I resigned at the end of 2019.

Got paid my LSL but I felt it was short.

Asked for them to review their figures - totally ignored.

Forgot about it - thought it was only a few hundred dollars due to a mismatch of a few months for when they thought I started and when I actually started.

Work called me back to do a few extra days.

Tried to screw me with that pay as well - pretended I didn't get my time sheets in by the cut off etc.

Got the union involved - mentioned the LSL issue as an aside.

They asked me to send them through the details.

The union said the difference was in the thousands in my favour not hundreds.

Asked the job for a 'please explain', ignored again.

Union stepped in, asked for a 'please explain' by XX date or they will start legal proceedings.

Got an email from the ex work today - $5100 coming my way by the end of the FY.

Yep - you bet that made me feel good today

White. Never had a white car before but I think it will look good with dark window tint and the rear diffuser with black surrounds pops against the white paint.

Also the red ST badge in red looks great against white. Will take some pics but I need to find a day to train down to Wollongong to pick up. Only white Fiesta ST in NSW presently available....

Not a snob, it may yet go that way. Would prefer not to trailer as this complicates the job, adds costs greater than the CountryLink fare.

Complicates the job, especially if you have to tow over Harpers Hill. Not so bad from West to East, that's a big hill the other way.

Thanks.

I was going to just buy a second hand $10,000 fuel efficient car for travelling to Sydney, and to save points and my licence. Thought about a Corolla Hybrid for fuel but the CVT transmission and gutless power and the lack of character-just could not be that sensible.

Not sure it is wise but could not resist buying a tiny car that has a top speed of some 234 kmph and goes round tight corners on 3 wheels, built in Cologne Germany, designed by Ford in Belgium.

My wife just shakes her head at me and says at my stage of life I should get a "nice" car

Yeah, that's the trouble, those cars usually do lack power for open road overtaking, and are dead boring to go with it.

I've read that the Ford Fiesta ST is a very good package, they go like the clappers and have great roadholding too. Fuel economy would have to be pretty good, at steady cruising speed on the open road.

At our stage of life, we still want some fun, we're not ready for a rocking chair and a rug over our knees.

Wheres the fun in that!!

If you are going to be stuck in a car that much, might as well be in something that makes it somewhat enjoyable!

$5300, the original couple hundred I thought was missing was also found to be oweing to me after all.

And no sense of remorse or apology from my old job.

Oh well, nice end of FY bonus I wasn't expecting.

I was the same. I work as a chalkie and for the first 10 years teaching primary I was advised to join 'because I'm a male'.

Got to high school, saw how evil and vindictive entitled young adults can become if you rub them the wrong way and joined right away.

Fast forward another 8 years and a few false allegations that got sorted quick smart once the union got involved as well as a dodgy prior partial redudancy as well as this 'accident' the monthly fees were money well spent.

Plus the fees are tax deductible. I'm all for fighting your own battles but I would have been out of pocket tens of thousands as well as out of a job without them.

off topic but many years ago had an industrial accident, got offered a payout, thought stuff that I deserve more, then looked at lawyer fee..... dang.
Id gone back to the same place, (I actually enjoyed working there) and union rep walks in, he & I continued our verbal diarrhoea at each other. Suddenly light went on...
'you have a lawyer in our outfit?'
' course we do.
;whats he charge?'
nothing, if your a member'
'faaark whats membership? sign me up.' cost $90.
