Yep 180B and a XA in the street. XA was a mates car, 302 auto ex taxi with a sh!tload of K's even back then. Used to use one of the those squeegee windscreen cleaner things when it rained leaning out the window while driving 'cause the wipers were knackered. When it rained, he'd offer you a squeegee for your side if you wanted to see. And had a domestic type light switch mounted to the dash for the headlights. Ahhhhh the go ol' days.
Long gone now..........that was over 20 years ago.

^^ that looks like a dead end street, how the hell did it end up like that?

its a towing fail and end result was likely but im just interested to know how much further down the road from the first pic, and im curious to see how it ended up looking like that lol.

id say its more like a carpart. pulled in went to stop towbar snapped pushing he car around, hopping the gutter and sending the un-tied down car into the ditch...

thats another pointer about both sets.. neither of them strapped the cars down.. why? are they wanting to die for towing cars heavier then the tow cars?

the one with the falcon towing the Cruizer..
if ya look in the photos theyres lots of things that coulda caused it
1) Jockey Wheel Down.. thats pretty dangerous in iself.
2) bit of speed wobble in the trailer and the falcon doesnt have the weight to controll it.
3) extremly poor tie downs.. the Cruizer is held on by some string.. you can see it on the front wheel in the pix..

No ,there is distinctly a loose chain around the towbar of the tojo.

What happened here? The sequence starts with a Falcon pulling a Landcruiser. Somewhere along the line there is a reversal of roles and the Falcon ends up on the trailer (the last pic should have the landcruiser pulling the trailer?). The owner figured he was putting the cart before the horse ?

The towbar tongue on the EL looks like the standard version and not heavy duty.
around 600kg as opposed to 2000kg?

Whats a landcruiser weight? 2.5tons?

Not only a fail, but epic moron

from original thread about this on another forum
Quote:
I spoke to the towie that everyone seems to know so much about his ethics & the story goes:

He was at the servo where they were loading it up... He walked over and told them it's too heavy for the car being used... They asked how much to tow it... He told them $80...

They said, "Well it's on now & we'll just take it easy"...

He said they shouldn't...

They said "She'll be right mate" & pretty much ignored the rest of what he was saying about the tie down methods...

He then rang the cops...

Cops told him to mind his own business... (In other words)...

He finished filling up his truck & caught up with them - took the photos...

Little while later the prang happens...

When he gets there, the guy driving the car say's "Wish we took you up on your offer"...

I would suggest that the trailer has shifted left and hit the pole, and then the car has leapt over to the right with the force that compressed the rear of the ute

It is a great day when 2 dunnydores are taken from us at once

Thats my guess too. I whether the broken axle is the cause or result of the accident though.

yeah a mate of mine thinks the weight from the accident would have twisted the chassis on the ute

my guess is he got "the swing" and lost it going by the marks in the dirt
and trailer and car (2ton) vs. ute (1ton if that)

Yet if it killed someone they'd be saying speed caused it. Shouldn't be in the force with an attitude like that.

Spotted this abomination at Bathurst the Saturday before the race on the entry to the chase when we went for our firewood . The wayneker was standing next to it proud as punch when he saw me take the photo , I though to myself if only you knew .
