That's why you compare stories from multiple sources. There is no single reliable source for any information.

The least credible source for the "whole story" regarding Trump is Trump himself, however.

And while media outlets may be owned and beholden to the owners' interests, they are also accountable and can produce evidence of what they report.

YouTube crackpots are under no such constraints.

I thought he was doomed after his Hitler gaffe.. what used to get you sliced and diced once upon a time is now called Just Another Thursday in Trump's White House. Fox were jumping on Obama for putting mustard on his burger! Obstructing justice, threatening witnesses, collusion and sharing highly classified intelligence with an enemy foreign state.. no problem!

Given the stench that's wafting through the halls, I'm shocked anyone would be prepared to accept any positions at this point. Would your next potential employer look favourably upon your time during the decline of Trump's administration (not that it really had a peak)

A crisis Trump can't manage with tweet or taunt

President Donald Trump is facing a crisis he can't manage with a tweet or a taunt.

The appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special counsel overseeing the federal government's Russia investigation has dramatically raised the legal and political stakes and put Trump's young presidency in dangerous territory just four months after he was sworn into office.

White House and campaign records may be subpoenaed, and Trump's presidential privilege to keep West Wing conversations private could be challenged. Current and former staffers probably will have to hire pricey lawyers and sit for interviews. Trump himself may have to answer questions.

"They will govern with constant fear of bombshell news being around the corner," said Julian Zelizer, a history professor at Princeton University.

"He wanted to make it out as media and Democratic warfare," Brinkley said. "But now, with Mueller being chosen and the GOP backing the Justice Department decision, Trump is truly going to be held to the standards of justice."

All I know is form your opinions from multiple sources of news in this day of age. The unique thing about Trump is his own mouth and Twitter feed.

A bit hard to claim it's fake when it's from your own mouth. It doesn't matter where it's reported, it is public record.

If there is any truth in any of these allegations, I reckon it's his own mouth that will undo him.

He is happy enough to use the media to his own end but whinges endlessly when it is the opposite.

Yeah there may not been a president attacked so much in the media but yet again he says so many dumb things. Every president before him pales in comparison.

Oh I'm pretty sure the U.S Coast Guard could not give a **** what the media thinks about him. What a narcissist

You won't see much of this on MSM:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lr6Y...OBXgCA&index=1

But soon as it drops slightly, twice, they're all over it, lol. Some even want the economy to fail - can you believe that &^%$!

This should be some good entertainment. Some epic deals will be made, particularly with the Saudi's.

Trump spooks markets, financial fool and money under your bed

We are coming closer to crunch time in the Trump administration. Within the next month or so I think we will have a much better idea as to whether Trump is akin to President Nixon or to President Reagan.

And which way we go will have the most enormous effect on the US stock, bond and currency markets, which until now have been supremely confident that President Trump is akin to Reagan rather than Nixon. It's going to be bumpy, but I think the Trump measures will re-emerge and what is happening in China is likely to be more important for parts of the Australian market.

I am not in the business of making judgements of what President Trump has done, but I am in the business of warning readers that if he gets badly wounded and the market believes he can’t introduce his tax cuts, develop his infrastructure plans, suck back the overseas money into the US and kick-start American investment, then Wall Street is headed for a considerable fall.
This week we saw money flooding out of US shares into bonds, pushing down yields. It was a warning of what might happen.

Interpreting what is taking place in Washington is difficult because the press and the public service hate Trump with a passion, so a lot of the reports are biased. On the other hand, although Trump has appointed good people to key posts, the vast rump of the top levels of the public service have lost their jobs and have not been replaced. This makes policy making and implementation that much more difficult. At the same time there are clear indications that the US economy is slowing, particularly in motor sales.

I had thought that Trump would push through his agenda, but each time the Russian stories get worse I become more nervous. As you read the reports that come out in the coming weeks, relate them to that basic market criteria but also remember that Trump will not give up on his agenda and he will push again.

If rumours are close to true, Pence is complicit in Russian activities so he's in deep doo doo, too. As is Ryan, apparently - on tape incriminating himself. No-one knows how long this debacle will go on as the wheels turn very slowly but the scandals being faced by this administration are unprecedented.. and the ignoramus in chief's twitter account has only added fuel at this point.

Kushner is also a 'person of interest' with ties to Russia. There's so much going on that the families 'sell Visa's to Chinese investors for $500,000 a pop' is barely news worthy.

If Donald was our PM, he would have been punted months ago. Our system certainly isn't ideal but a floundering head is normally dealt with swiftly, by comparison.

'If rumours are true....' I think this is half the problem. Too many people believing too many rumours. Please don't take this as a personal attack, but you've used the words like 'rumour' 'apparently' 'supposedly' more than half a dozen times over recent pages, yet much of it has not come to fruition. This has been common amongst most of his detractors.
No doubt he's said some stupid things but less focus on the facts rather than rumours.

I'm neither a Trump nor Clinton supporter, but as the Topic says I'm interested in how it will affect Australia.
The most insightful post is the one a few above this which quotes Robert Gottliebsen. He's not in the business of speculating as to what Trump has done, but merely states a warning that if the US gets bogged down in this, it
could severely affect the economy. That's not going to be good for any of us.

Trump will resign so he doesn't 'lose'

The co-writer of President Trump's bestselling book "The Art of the Deal" predicted Thursday that Trump will resign before he is consumed by one of the scandals rocking the White House.

In an interview with CNN, Tony Schwartz said that Trump is in "pure terror" that the scandals surrounding his administration could boil over to impeachment, and will likely walk away.

"There is no right and wrong for Trump. There's winning and losing. And that's very different from right and wrong. Right now he's in pure terror that he is going to lose," Schwartz said.

"And by the way, he is going to lose."

Some of those things that have been leaked require the investigation to move forward. Some have been confirmed (such as the two grand juries that have been convened, raids and warrants and subpoenas issued).

The rumours are leaks from intelligence agencies to people who had relationships with them when they were working in government.

Perhaps a good deal of it is bollocks - I find it fascinating. I also can't wait to hear the speech Trump is going to give about Islam in Saudi Arabia supposedly written by the same guy who wrote the legislation on the 'Muslim travel ban'. I'm wondering if Saturday Night Live has also embedded some agents in Trump's administration.

If Sanders (who doesn't have the power to do so, but we'll run with the example) were to have the lead investigator fired in an effort to squash the investigation on his wife, I'd call for his head, too.

That there's an investigation into Trump ties with Russia is not the problem. He does have ties to Russian banks and Russian "businessmen" which he categorically denies - yet, his lawyers don't. IIRC, their statement exclaimed 'with a few exceptions..'. It's the fact that he's trying to squash the investigation is the problem.

Nixon's downfall wasn't due to the break-in at Watergate (it's not even known to this day whether Nixon had anything to do with the initial plan), it was Nixon's attempt to cover-up and make the scandal go away that got him booted. And Trump is walking down the same path. He could be completely clean and has zero Russian connections now and during his campaign, but he's intimidating witnesses (Yates and Comey) and admitted to firing Comey over his investigation into ties with Russia.

You'd think after 6 months after winning the election, one of his baby sitters would have explained to him that the Presidency isn't a dictatorship.
