Obviously english body, Looks like V8, so similar concept to the AC Cobra, but Bristol is all that comes to mind...

Not English, but definately V8. Only two built, one 6 litre, one 6.95 litre.

You are onto something there - built by a main stream manufacturer in their market utilising various components from a myriad of production models - not Italian, early sixties, long regarded as the most successful racing cars in their home country.

Mate, I've only known a couple straight off, and even then got beaten to the punch.
