Wow, I have been pricing up a sweet cockpit + PS3 setup just for this game, now i am not so sure I will bother, I may as well play GT4 on PS2! Considering I was going to buy a PS4 just for this game I cannot see me outlaying $2000 odd for a nice GT5 setup without some more aussie fords in there!

Having Forza 3 and having an idea of Forza 4's release in the next year I don't think I will bother buying GT5, at least FM3 has 8 V8SC and a W427 to keep us aussies somewhat catered for, also DLC with latest and greatest cars, quality driving physics not seen in any other game yet released. GT5 will have to be one perfect game to make up for its 5 year delay.

About bloody time.
Glen Seton's AU racer is still in there but the FPV's appear to be gone BTW 24th is release for most countries, but for us it's the 25th.

So many rubbish cars. No recent Aston Martin's (one 77!!) but 50 million skylines. No 2010-11 mustang but plenty of fiat 500's!!!!

Yeah, I read the list yesterday and made up my mind I won't be getting it. To get over 1000 cars you have 50 variations of the Mazda Miata (MX5) or so it seems and various other models with 20-30 variations (Probably all just sticker kits), no newish cars and there has been some great cars released this year internationally. I'm actually quite disappointed about it as Gran Turismo was my Favourite Racing franchise but now they have ruined for me, it might have game play that isn't in Forza 3 but I reckon Forza 4 will have that.

Edit: I was wrong, it has an 00 AU Supercar, a 04 VY Commodore and a 04 VY Manaro.
Here's the links to the official car list and track list, http://eu.gran-turismo.com/local/gb/...arlist_en.html http://eu.gran-turismo.com/local/gb/...selist_en.html Yes Brooksy, DLC is short for Down Load Content

I'd love to know WHY the 2 FPV's have dissapeared.
Seems near on every other car from GT4 is in it, so why not the FPV's. hopefully its just an oversight and they are included :/ |

Polyphony/sony/whoever pays car companies to have their cars featured in their games. They are not going to offer as much to an Australian car company because Australia/NZ makes up only a very small proportion of the game sales.
Maybe FPV wanted too much money this time and it just wasn't worth it for two cars from such a small market. Maybe they don't see the value in having their cars featured? I doubt they sold any more cars because of GT4. Perhaps they weren't able to get the FG FPVs modelled in time and they didn't want to 'advertise' the older models? Holden/HSV has always been more 'video game' conscious than Ford(AU) or FPV, I'm not surprised the SS made the cut and the GT and F6 didn't. I am disappointed though, the F6 handled great around the 'ring. It wasn't as light and nimble as the faster cars but its weight actually helped a bit over the rough surface, it had plenty of balls going up the big hill halfway through (I forget the name) and it was still pretty balanced for a big car. I won one of the 9 hour endurance races in the GT and it was awesome too. EDIT: After reading that though, I'd put my money there not being enough time to get the new models made (it does take a while) and FPV not wanting to advertise an older model. Would be nice to get at least the FG GT and F6 later on, maybe we should each be sending an email to Ford/FPV about it every day. Last edited by 3vXT; 16-11-2010 at 12:44 PM. |

What did you expect people, Its a japanese game, if you want aussie cars drive the v8 supercar games, which are ****. The car list looks good to me, even if it did have FPV's and HSV's I wouldn't be driving them in the game because compared to what you can get they would be SLOW.
Its got the Nürburgring and the top gear test track! thats awesome. I will be seeing if the times I can pull can match the stig's PLUS Jay leno Tank Car '03 Zonda's Veyron |

I would have liked the FPV's, even old ones, just because it was fun carving up "faster" cars with them.
Im annoyed there is no 2010/11 5.0 Mustang, but the SVT 00R and 71 BOSS are there so thats not bad....its going to kick ****.

Compare the older F6 and GT to the current models. The BA F6 is only as powerful as the current XR6t and looks noticeably different then the current F6 (I'm not saying it looks worse, I love the old F6 ). The BA GT is now only as powerful as an XR8, is a NA boss compared to the supercharged coyote and, like the F6, looks like an older model. Also the GT4 cars were modelled with the 4spd auto or 5 speed manual (I forget which but it was sh't), the current F6 and GT have the 6speed manual and auto. Holden obviously aren't as worried about that but then, as I posted earlier, Holden have always been more 'video game friendly' when it comes to having their cars featured. |

At the end of the day its about exposure too....you would hope people are astute enough to see the year model and understand.
Ive got a guy living me right now from France who didn't even know FPV existed if it wasn't for GT4. Now thats not going to get a sale but its all about growing the brand.

Another thing is I really think there should be a Holden vs Ford game. Of course it'll never be made, because we're seen as small fishes. It quite frankly sucks. I remember ages ago I bought a Chevy vs Ford game for the PS2. It was very arcadish, but good fun for $10, or however much I paid for it. Last edited by Ryan; 17-11-2010 at 03:45 PM. |
