I understand that the dealership voided the warranty on that XR.

That is a sad video, what an embarrasment to both ford and the journalists undergoing the comparison.

Im surprised how well the falcon and especially fairmont ghia went, considering they are a model that is starting to age. These close comparisons are a good read, well done to ford for creating a great product

It could have happened to the new Commodore as well. Then again looking at the oil patch on the road without an oil trail ... it looks like it was just dumped out of a bottle.

Sounds like a certain Holden fan from Bathurst 1980 made his way into the outback.

There's another thread on the age one..
I love the new ad campaign for holden.. something about 'all go' or whatever.. Sure, the 6L's are powerful.. But when the standard models have LESS power than the last model, I just had to laugh. |

Then set up the big show of sitting there waiting for the other dick to turn up. Reminded me of the moon walk with camera on the moon ready but no-one was on the moon before the first step..

I see what you guys were talking about. My first impression when it started was "who is this yobbo" I thought the Glen Ridge was bad at doing comparo's, but these to knob's make Glen look like a real pro.... What a joke... |

I wish that we could get the guys from 'bestmotoring' from Japan to come out and test our cars. My brother has all their DVDs and they do the best comparisons that I have seen between cars. They absolutely ring there necks.
Have any of you guys seen their comparisons?

Hmmm, you have obviously been reading the wrong info, as all VE's have more power than VZ's. |

Hi all.
I have read the article from motor mag about the VE vs BF (XR8, XR6T, SS and SSV) . Anyone read it yet? Here is the conclusion for those who have not read it "That our testers on this comparison were split about 50-50 between the SS and the turbo gives you and idea of how good the turbo still is. But that doesnt alter the final outcome which was a points decisoin to the SS over the Turbo with the SSV third (based on price) and the XR8's irrelevance earning it last spot. Wanna be king of the road? Then you need the Commodore SS, you do." So once again, the fords dont stack up too badly considering they are now a generation older.

Ahhh, a worthy article that points out pros and cons of each. I like the times the commodores are pulling. Quite fast really.

Nah they didn't take them on the track at all...it was just road testing and performance times in a straight line.
I think bang for your bucks is in next months mag so they should take them on the track then.
