Only work in Tassie if you like the rain. West Coast has the likes of 250-300 rain days a year.

Lol.

Some of the mines in central qld get a couple of metres of rain a year and that is usually concentrated over a 5 month period.

When it isn't raining, you are developing skin cancers at a world record rate. Tassie would be a walk in the park.

yeah sounds good will catch up,that car and bike show is on tomorrow (sunday at dampier) ,but yeah up here you can do the following drink (a big favourite),go to the brothel or see the other hookers in the town,go to the gym in the camps or work work work,or a mix that suits you.but hey a car show in the Pilbara ,well that is not an everyday event up here.there are some pretty tough fords and other cars tucked away up here, with all the money etc in the area there is bound to be a good supply of toys weather it is bikes cars boats motocross bikes go karts etc etc its a pretty impressive show so i have been told.cheers, time for another tequila shooter, wow done! now off to the wet mess (the bar on a mine site).

Do the mines take interest in light vehicle mechanics? All the jobs I see are HD or need plant experience yet I've known of mechanics getting up there doing various things.

if you've experience with diesels, most underground coalmines will take you on as a fitter. we have guys at our mine who are mechanics and got their start that way.

Yeah I saw that on seek. Then you read further down and it says you need HD experience and 2 years experience rebuilding diesels so the title is a bit misleading.

I was considering sending them an email. Its in Perth too which is better than FIFO. The only issue is I dont want to be given a job where I have no idea what I'm doing but am expected to.
