for those that are thinking about territory rear brakes
here are some photos on fitment
first photo is no spacer behind the mounting bracket
you can see the rotor touches the bracket


this one is 2mm washers fitted, still no room



this is with 2 washers (4mm) and it rubs on the other side


and here you can see the stock backing plate touches all over the place

So I think I’ve got it now, I’ve read this enire thread..
1• AU S1 had a master Cyl Change in late 99 to a bigger bore, this is the master required for FGT 322mm front brakes and Territory 30? rears to match the extra volume required?

2• Need lower control arms, uprights, hubs, swaybar links & brackets from
AU S2-FGX with BF brake lines and caliper bolts to match the above brake upgrade..

3• Territory brakes go on IRS rear with 3mm spacer to center the caliper and require the Territory rear back plate with custom brake line to suit?

4• Territory brakes on solid axle bolts up and also required custom brake line

How did I go?

So in my case my march 99 au1 6cyl most likely has the small master cylinder and i have no issues running the big brakes, they almost pull your face off. The bigger master cylinder might give a better pedal feel but in my case its not required

The AU2/3 front brake lines will fit on BA 298 and 322 calipers but using BA lines would be best as it has a longer bent hardline at the caliper end

Rear territory calipers on a live axle can use AU lines no problem as thats what im using

How many guys on here have gone the premium brake upgrade on the front -328mm I think from memory... Would there be much benefit over the 322mm rotors? I think the 328mm are a fair bit thicker too.

329mm. I've had them since new so I can't comment. The biggest benefit IMO would be the better looking caliper.. Having said that, they probably look worse if you don't dress the backs of the pads like so.

Do you know how you would tell the calipers apart between the 322 and 329?
You probably wouldn’t pick up 7mm difference unless you had both rotors next to each other.
But is there anything on the calipers to identify them by?

You can identify the calipers by looking at them.
It is all to do with the cooling fins & the front face

322mm
BF 322mm caliper
28mm thick disc


329mm - AU Premiums - Also C4 corvette caliper
Distinction is in the round mounting holes in the face of the caliper
28mm thick disc


325mm - BA Premiums - C5 Corvette caliper
Flat face, cooling fins at top only, central divot
32mm thick disc

They are pretty easy to identify after looking at them like that.

The au premiums never come up and every one wants so much for them.
I’m going to try and find some of the ba/bf premiums, just for the thicker rotors, my Mrs warps the standard au fronts every time she drives it haha.

Has anyone put Safebrake braided lines on the AU2/3? On the rear calipers the brackets supplied with the hoses dont face in the right direction. Did anyone else have this problem and how did you get around it?

I used Standard AUIII lines and also from BA Ute (they have the same/similar cable mount)

Gidday fella's, I've read through the thread but can't find an answer to my question - do I need to change the brake booster/master cylinder for my particular upgrade?

I've got a S1 AU Ghia that I want to put BF turbo brakes on; stub axels, sway bar, control arms have been done. Anyone know if I need to upgrade the booster and master? Cheers..

you don't need to, your brakes will still be great but you will have to push harder on the pedal, i have done it a few times and you just have to get used to it.
however a booster will help and will help with lazy city driving when you use your big toe to brake.

so to answer your question: its good to do it but not mandatory at all.

Are you talking about off the shelf, brembos or custom?

If off the shelf then the same as what I have.

322mm XR6T/XR8 brakes on the front (excluding BA).

328mm BFI XR6T/XR8 or Territory brakes on the rear.

NOTE: BFII went back to the standard 303mm brakes on the rear.

I'd love to get some solid intel on what length brake lines are needed for the rear Territory upgrade. Some say the standard lines are long enough, others say they need to be replaced with longer ones. I will be getting braided lines made up, so obviously they can be whatever length i want.

Does anyone have a definitive answer on this? Actual measurements of the line would be extremely helpful.

sorry not 'definitive' but stock rears should work fine its only the fronts that can cause issues with full lock, they still work but they almost get to full extension.

You will need a 3mm (from memory) washer to make to rotor line up. Its in this thread some wear (also in my XR8 build)

Yes bolts straight on, depending on your dust shield you might (probably) have to trim the cut out bigger, since the caliper is bigger/wider than what was there before.

As mentioned use spacers to get it sitting centred over the disc. A good way to see for yourself what is required is to remove the caliper bracket from the caliper body(the body being the bit with the piston).

Then you bolt the caliper bracket on by itself with the disc on, and it becomes quite obvious where it has to live to be centred over the disc, try get the same space on each side of the bracket where its cut out to fit over the disc.

3mm is about right, rolan on ebay sells ARP brand hardened washers which i like, some generic washers arent so great, it depends, you just dont want ones that are soft and crush etc. when torqued.

Just got ordered a set of refurbed terry 328mm rears.

Think I will contact race brakes sydney to see if they can make up some new lines for the rear.

Fronts seem to be elusive as of right now I did see RBS sell a 325mm front kit same as on the ba gt.
