I must get my wife's i45 onto some wet grass and then film the dash to see what 0-100 time a stock 4 cylinder Hyundai can manage.
Should be clear that 'other timed event' does not include a visit to a brothel. |

Can't believe the Camry love going on here of late.
The Camry epitomises motoring blandness to a tee. Add to that there is no pizazz, no flair, and more importantly no heritage behind the car or the name. In this respect, it cannot hold a candle against the Falcon, which has umpteen gutsy Bathurst and ATCC wins behind it, with driving legends like Moffat, Gibson, Johnson, Bowe, Ambrose, and Frosty all ingrained in its folklore. It's the current reining Bathurst winner. As was also mentioned, unlike the XR6T, there's no cult-car status going on with it either. 0-100 times in the 6 seconds bracket is all well and good, but that can't be compared to cars running in the 5 second bracket. Much like 5 second bracket cars can't be compared to 4 second bracket cars - this "only a second in it" argument is rubbish. I doubt any of this is news to most Ford and/or performance car enthusiasts. However, for the benefit of the Camry aficionados who are close to placing their orders, I've just checked to see whether Camry's are still available in beige. Unfortunately they are not - the closest colour is called 'magnetic bronze'. |

I thought all manufacturers of mass produced cars ensured speedo readings are a few k’s faster (per 100km/h) than actual in case of discrepancies to stop law suits arising from driver’s being booked for speeding.
Or is that just an urban myth? |

obviously if any changes are made to the car, including tyres, the onus is on the owner to make sure the speedo is still correct. |

I think the law states that speedos cannot read low. But every car I have been in reads a little high.

I found this but there are many more articles that involve the more technical aspect of ADR's and the general rule is most speedos read high.

Correct, so when my Wife is doing 100 by the speedo she is actually doing 96 on the Tomtom.

I noticed that as well though I didn’t read too much into it, I just saw it as the Anti Ford bias expected from Drive.

Aurion has always been made here. We're also the only nation where it and the Camry are separate models, elsewhere you either get one or the other (and badged only as a Camry)

Hired an SX Territory in 07. Indicated 100kph on speedo matched 100kph on GPS. That car was so awesome, smooth and comfy I would have bought it in a heartbeat, had it been for sale.
