Took a photo of all the crap I carry around with me every day to and from work:
Hatch backs are so practical Minus the wheel without the tyre on it though now. In before the question about all the coke bottles, I use them to keep water in for my washer bottle. |

I originally pushed ignition active in with fuse 42 to operate drl's, later I purchased a mini blade tap fuse and put it into fuse 43 that was empty. Operation is - ignition on, drl's on - low beam on, drl's off as required by law. Works with auto headlights also, that is headlights automatic on, drl's off. Wiring diagram as promised. Interesting comment about law requiring the DLR off when lights on because heaps of Eurpoean SUVs around here have them on all the time even with headlights on.

I'd love to improve the look of my Focus internally but Ford accessories are soooo expensive. Can anyone direct me to good supplier of accessories that dont look like aftermarket and dont cost as much as Ford?

One site I have purchased form is this - http://www.teamtorquesteer.co.uk/ Don't bother with U.S. sites as their Focii are different to ours, UK parts are generally compatible with our models Last edited by Russ; 31-07-2013 at 04:11 PM. |

As Russ said, what model is it? There are quite a few how to's on here for simple things like the 'visor lights' upgrade, interior door handle upgrade, interior light, front and back upgrade etc. What are you wanting to do also?

So, this is focus I bought for the girlfriend. It was 100% standard. I enjoy this thing more than my FG GT lol. Doesnt have the out right pace but its so much fun and cheaper to modify.
So far, have installed - Bilstein B12 kit - Whiteline rear swaybar. - Custom drilled and custom +42 offset 18x8.5 wheels - The vinyl stripes, plus wrapped the bumper under the lower grill and rear diffuser part. - Roadsport stg3 intercooler - Pumaspeed ultimate cat back. - Pumaspeed ultimate intake (swapped from KnN intake) - Pumaspeed SCT tunes running Perf+ Soon to come, - Stripes down the side. - Paint the upper and lower grill, front and rear foglight surrounds satin black. - 2XS dump pipe and cat. - Pumaspeed SCT 412 tune - Decent subwoofer - Sunroof

Booked her in for the customary 3k POM service. Gotta get some condensation checked out in the centre brake light, install the emergency assist, and get a slight knock checked out coming from the front right.

Just got DRL(Day running light) and some other accessories for my 13 Focus Sport.
Yesterday spent 2 hours on researching and installing by myself. The original program was: 1.Without other lights on, DRL 100% on. 2. Parking lights on, DRL 50% on. 3. Headlights on, DRL off. after first installed, above successful achieved. However, I would like DRL 50% on while headlights on. So did some research and reconnect some wires. Now program is: 1. Withour other lights on, DRL 100% on. 2. Parking lights on, DRL 50% on. 3. Headlights on, DRL 50% on. The whole unit (Made in Taiwan) costs $118.18 (purchased from China), including 1. A pair of DRL. 2. Installation tools. 3. Voltage Stabilizer. If you want to get one, just be careful. A lot of DRL in China look same but the quality is far different. The unit made in Taiwan is much better on quality and lifetime. photo (3).JPG 1.jpg

Check to make sure your configuration is street legit!
When I fitted mine the aussie road laws quoted as below so I couldn't wire them as per instructions with drl's See below Road Transport (Vehicle Registration) No 12, 2000 SCHEDULE 1—continued 153 Authorised when accessed at www.legislation.act.gov.au or in authorised printed form (b) not use over 25W. The factory DRL's on my Focus dim to become parkers in park and headlight positions. The other thing which is not very clear is that it says the DRL should emit WHITE light. Is that LED white or Tungsten white? Because I have seen some European cars (VW Golf, Up etc) with normal globes for DRL's and they are far from white.

No I think you are alright (safe ADR wise)when the DRL's dim to 50% when the parkers and headlight are on and are at 100% when the parkers and headlights are off.
The factory DRL's on my Focus dim to become parkers in park and headlight positions. Google ADR requirements. Note in some states there is a difference between new cars fitted with drl's as standard equipment and aftermarket fitting of drl's. Aftermaket = headlights on drl's off. Cheers |
