Yeah I saw that video too. As clear as day the BMW was cornering much better.

The Mustang was using the whole track, crab walking to the edge because the back end didn't act independently. Mustang had the M3 on power... that is all.

I have a feeling that the FPV GT would really struggle against the M3,
how about we get Drive or Goauto to do a match up on this side of the pacific..

It was taken around the track by an american veteran race car driver.... but he probably isn't as good as you though.

1- I said i wouldnt take their word for gospel.
2- I said some people take journos opinion for gospel.
3- I said id prefer the mustang still.

Maybe re read what people type before quoting them eh.

Yep ive seen it to, and yeah the average punter would take the M3 based on the review.
Anyway this is for another thread this is about the 'Falcon bad news' not the M3.

Then the 'average punter' must know what he's on about, even though the 'average punter' is more likely to be able to afford the Mustang. It's just more Ford spin. Like FoA saying they used BMW for their benchmarks on Falcon and Territory. But we just smile and nod.

Last thing I'm saying on this. Back to topic.

We all know Falcon is a great product and scratch our heads trying to figure out whats going on. Is it really being killed from within???

What does the delivery time of Ranger have to do with Falcon??

Yes.. And a 6 week wait it normal & nothing wrong with that time at all.. People just expect the wolrd to stop & build there car straight away?

Ranger lead time is a bit long in the tooth however!!

I know which fast Ford I'd choose in that price range, and it's only got 2 doors. I'd go for an F6 ute, manual, no options.

i forgot about the F6, for those playing at home i was referring to the GT500.

GT500 does not have full traction control, just rudimentary launch control, that's the real problem with cornering.
I spoke to a work colleague who owns an FPV GT and told me he attended a recent track day where owners
did driving with traction control on and off, it was impossible to go through the prescribed corner without the
tail flicking out when traction control was switched off so I can see why the GT500 would be a handful to drive.

You just outlined the main reasons why id prefer one.

yeah, pretty sure the people who actually buy the GT500 want it to be a bit taily to add to the experience.

Non-buyers (as in critics) opinions on handling/performance carry absolutely no weight with Ford and that's the way it should be.
