WHY IS IT that people who you'd expect to know better, instead of spending $100k on a 20 year old machine from a known manufacturer with a good reputation, will spend that same $100k on a brand new machine from a company who's only reputation is from multiple BAD google reviews and mentions of lawsuits?

Place I used to work for had a front end loader that was the bane of my existence, the manufacturers only agent in Australia couldnt tell me for certain which air cleaner element it was supposed to have, the only cross reference I could find for the engine oil filter that I could find was a hydraulic filter, and we eventually gave up trying to find the transmission and fuel filters!
Add to this an insanely clunky transmission, it wouldnt lift more than 1500kg in the bucket (but was rated at 2500kg) but.... "yeah, it was cheap"

Given its illegal to park your car across a footpath, even in your driveway, why is it so many houses are built with not enough room to park a car between the garage and the footpath?

Why is it my stop start doesn't work all the time?
Mazda CX5, new battery, no accessories running ie; air con.
I can pull up at one set of lights, it stops, next set of lights, nothing.

I think some are based on how hard you depress the brake pedal. see if that makes a difference in the mazda

Because it's a competition to see who has the biggest house in the street. It's also a byproduct of people filling the garage full of useless crap, in turn the car sits in the street or on the driveway.

Nah, done that.
There's a green light comes on the dash to indicate the stop start is functional, but then it just goes out.
When all else fails, read the handbook.
Remember when they were about 20 pages, now they're a novel.

The start stop is a pain in the a$$ and will not work under certain conditions we have the same thing on the Merc

Cold engine
Fuel injection learning is underway
Battery is depleted
Car driven only a short distance
Bonnet, door or boot is open
Driver’s seatbelt not fastened
Aircon is in airflow mode or maximum cooling
Aircon is cooling interior
Problem with keyless entry
Steering wheel is being operated
Problem with brake vacuum
High or low ambient temperature
Low atmospheric pressure ( at altitude)
Stopped on a steep slope

Anyone else have a mental picture of joey from Friends with his manbag after reading this?

I remember this was a thing in the 90's too, it didn't really take off then, and I doubt if its going to take off again now.

A mate tried it a few months back, we helped him see the error of his ways with a light ribbing

Why is it that when I wandered idly into Big W today, I was greeted by aisles of Christmas paraphernalia? Behind which was setup.... Halloween crap by the boatload!!?!

Whoever decided that three months out is the time to pop out the xmas merch should be keelhauled. Add to that the fact you have to walk through the Christmas stuff to get to the Halloween nonsense is a bit of a head scratcher, given the chronological nature of the events.

I probably should have had a bit of a look, there were probably some Easter eggs to be had.

Cheers, Tony

Why is it a certain group of Youtuber's spend 80-90% of each video telling viewers to "like and subscribe", "click the bell" and "follow the link to my xyz video that I have already made".

In other words, I have nothing all that much new to say, so reward me for that by clicking like and subscribe, and so that I can get more views, go watch another video in which I also have nothing new to say and again ask you to like and subscribe.

Here's a tip, if you want me to give you a "like", then make a decent video that's in focus, with decent audio and actually have something to tell me other than prompting me to reward your mediocrity with a "like", and in turn so that Youtube pays you for your efforts.

Why is it?

That after months if not years of not seeing or even thinking about it, the classic Delorean motorcar has made an appearance not once, not twice but three times on three separate tv programs in the space of 5-6 hours?

This is 100% correct for a CX5. We have one and I always hold the brakes at different pressure depending on how long I think I’ll be stopped for.
It’s honestly one of the best stop start systems I’ve ever used. It’s great not having to disable it the second I start the engine like I do with every other brand I’ve driven with a stop start system

Yes, I knew about pressure on brake pedal.
Problem has been resolved, too many short trips, battery not getting juiced up.
Done a few long drives and back to normal

I wouldn't doubt that for a second.

Another annoyance is when a Youtuber has been sent a product by a company for them to "test and review". Said Youtuber than states at the beginning of their video that they "have not been paid for this review and this is my honest, independent opinion....". Ummm, being sent free products and asked to review them is in fact being PAID. In most cases, this is not a fair and honest review, the person in front of the camera is more than likely so happy to have been noticed and sent something for free for that to happen.

The above is plainly obvious when the reviewer glosses over the product's clear failings so as to not upset the gravy train. In a lot of cases, the person has no idea what they are talking about other than they got it for free and that must mean the company is awesome, right?

Some of the trucking ones I've been watching lately have verbally abused their free products, downright refusing to use them again.

The free Chinese made "Train Horns" comes to mind.
