The 1.8L N13, was more of a joint venture. Featuring Holden's locally built "Camtech" engine, and possibly a GM transaxle. Nissan kept using the engine, even after the JV came to an end

I still see original 1.8L variants on the road, not blowing smoke, original engines, still just ticking along nicely. From 18 y.o P platers to one owner grandma cars. They are certainly one of the most over engineered cars ever made in my opinion. Nissan totally lost money on these, as they never broke down. Yes the had a few niggles, such as the ecu memcal being dickie, easy fix tho. The one we had in 1992 ws a Pulsar Q in white with 89,000kays on it. The only problem it had was on cold starts, sometimes it would run on 3 pots for a bit, then come good on all four. As it was under factory warr an tee, nissan had it for a week trying to replicate the problem, and eventually tracked it down to an injector that was leaking ow and then, cause it to run rich on cylinder 3 for a bit until it cleared it self. The other thing it did was when coming off freeway type driving, the ECM light would blink logging a code. That code was the o2 sensor fault. Wasn't a bad sensor, just a niggle. Apart from those two things, and the aircon struggling on super hot days, I cannot fault them. They handle, go well stock, comfy to cruise in, good on juice, reliable as the sun, easy to work on and actually look like a nice neat car that suits all ages. The next car Nissan lost money on BIG TIME was the 1994 - 1997 A32 / A33 Nissan Maxima. VG 30 Engine won the best engine of the year for 7 years in a row if I remember rightly, that being for reliability, maintenance costs etc. Anyway I'll save that story for another time.. Yawn... One Man

Yeah the Cragar's well suited it. I was eyeing off the old school wire 5 3/4in headlight protectors for my Kenworth. Where did all these old parts go ??

Did they actually make a Galaxie ute, or is it a chopped wagon?
Edit. It's actually a custom jobby. https://www.curbsideclassic.com/blog...-custom-sedan/

Well that does make more sense.
Nope. I had a N13 Vector. Two mates had Camiras. Engines were identical (I guess except for the need to mount to different transaxles.)

I recall a few years later, my dad decided to buy a dual-cab, and being old school, he bought a base-model Hilux, because it was the only one he could find that still used a Carbie. He insisted that EFI was unreliable. So guess what left him stranded halfway across the country? A kinked fuel hose feeding his beloved carbie.

Most, if not all of those were throttle body injected at minimum.

My ex wifes 1st car was an 89 n13 pulsar Q. 1.8L 3 speed slush box. Put a set of 16s on it (looked big as it had 14s factory) and standard issue p plate stuff of the time like 2 12s in the boot. It wasnt a bad car. It wasnt fast or anything overly exiting. It was a bit cramped with a baby capsule in it so got traded in and a mazda 6 was purchased.

Vanish was introduced in March 2011 and was used on FG, FG MK II and early FG-X. It effectively replaced Sensation. So yes, a Vanish GS was certainly available.

I'd like a VR/VS 5L ute, but drug money
They were changing hands for $20K-$30K recently, unsure now with the glass BBQ economy cooling down. |

What an absolute ***** of a place to put them. A friend was wrecking a VQ Stato that had been sitting for a few years. We tried to get it running. Bugga. Got no spark, pulled the dizzy cap and discovered the rotor button key way was sheared and not turning due to some muppet not refitting the dizzy cap correctly. Simple enough fix yeah? Nah. I ended up using a recip saw to cut the wiper cowl in two places, then folding the cowl up towards the windscreen to give me easier access to the dizzy. ***** ***** ***** of a job. Got it going with a Ford rotor button funnily enough.. One Man.

The VS S ute with the 3.8 in auto would be a nice post classic buy, if any that are left are still original.

Mate of mine has a tidy VF val couple in a powder blue hue with the 225 badges, looks like it rolled off the dealer lot (apart from the 360 crate motor and bugcatcher our the hood)

Peak hour traffic heading home from G-town today
AU1 XR8 (or XR6VCT) in Galaxy, full body kit including that double spoiler Looks amazingly different to how auto styling has gone, they were on another planet with that effort, but only those who were enlightened ascended to enjoy that dimension. This is the classic press release photo of a young exec on their way to bet the company's pension fund on pets.com: https://www.carsinvasion.com/gallery...xr6-vct-04.jpg Tried to keep up but traffic light gods said no. If it's one of you with the AU, well done!
