This is the classic press release photo of a young exec on their way to bet the company's pension fund on pets.com:

Tried to keep up but traffic light gods said no. If it's one of you with the AU, well done!
I looked at an AU XR6 HP when searching for my first car, same Galaxy Blue colour too but without the full Tickford body kit. In the end, I couldn't get past the swathes of grey plastic Ford used in the S1.

Today's car spotting adventures...

Didn't get a pic, but it was a 2 door soft top Galaxie in gold or silver. Can't remember. Never seen a convertible Galaxie 500 before, that I can remember, anyway, it was something like this:

The paint on this XR8 "daily" was pealing badly on the bonnet and roof. Hard to tell from the way I got the pic.

BA Fairlane G8. BA? BF? Don't know, haven't seen many of them tho.

And who can forget the TE Corty wagon... yep, big block 4.1 4 speed... tacho dash and all. Can't say I'm a fan of the stance, but hey, whatever floats his boat...

Cheers,

One Man

Being a G8, it would have been a BF model. On BA, it was called the G220.

Ahh, I see. I have seen plenty of the G220 models, just not the G8 models.
Thanks for clarifying that for me.

What an absolute ***** of a place to put them.

A friend was wrecking a VQ Stato that had been sitting for a few years. We tried to get it running. Bugga. Got no spark, pulled the dizzy cap and discovered the rotor button key way was sheared and not turning due to some muppet not refitting the dizzy cap correctly. Simple enough fix yeah?

Nah.
I ended up using a recip saw to cut the wiper cowl in two places, then folding the cowl up towards the windscreen to give me easier access to the dizzy. ***** ***** ***** of a job. Got it going with a Ford rotor button funnily enough..

One Man.
Mine has a blanking cap on it and it's just used as a CMP

Absolute potato job on those things to change, same with the plugs on the high series cars next to the ABS pump

In the boring black and white sea of SUV's along Eastern Valley Way and I spot a lovely metallic green Valiant Ranger wagon complete with the white venetians along the back windows.

While walking back, spotting the other nice Merc parked 2 streets from the one post a couple of days back.

That reminds me of the 280SE I spotted yesterday morning, same colour and condition as pictured. Driven by an older gent, it had a lovely exhaust tone.

Thanks big guy. Last time I was currious about the FG Ecoboost I recently purchased, and you gave me a weeks worth of reading.. now you have done the same thing again! I love it. Maybe a username change for you is in order.. like lets say "The Oracle".

Just wondering when my noggin is going to give me the "low disk space" warning. hehehe... from all of the info I'm being saturated with on here. I love it.

Thanks.

I’ve been up close to a genuine staff car in a museum.
A couple of cars down was also a V16 Cadillac. The craftsmanship in the Mercedes looks to be on an another level to the Cadillac.

Even on my days off I still have the urge to take snaps of the classics that are daily's...
Spotted this at a pub last night. Man, no way would I park it in a pub carpark like that.. I'd be freaking out about getting a dent.

Beaut SS. Geeze, they look good with drop tanks.
Almost needed them in the sedans due to the filler being behind the number plate.
Wagons weren't much better being low on the rear quarters either.

HQ, J, X, Z, wagons... who remembers the dreaded "blow back" when filling up the tank on a wagon. Sheeeit design.
Agrees 100% Rokwiz..

BTW, on a side note: I loved your car security solution! A god daum shipping containg!

Love it. If ya can't:
  • see it
  • go jack it
  • tow it
  • or have a container fork lift handy
then it's pretty safe to say it's one solid place to keep the "pride and joy".

No more bird poo. Win!
No more tom cats ****ing on the wheels. Win!
No more water stains. Win!

Many many more wins.

Yikes. Looks like a trapdoor.
Had it been raining, like $ydney Funnel webs, they tend to wander after their homes are flooded.

Was in Beechworth on Saturday and there was a gold FG F6 sedan parked in town.
Appeared really well looked after, with some flash aftermarket wheels.
However I followed it leaving town and it was blowing a heap of oil smoke, one of the worst I've seen from a Barra.
Sad to see...

Hellava trapdoor there!

Was gardening with the better half clearing and excavating out a rock garden, and she got one of those on her glove, must've ****ed it off, it struck multiple times over a couple of seconds, went through the glove and punctured her skin.

A nervous half hour later, we'd taken a pic to the doc and it was OK, the bites might hurt and she might feel a bit dizzy, but would be OK.

She reckoned it was like a small hand grabbing hold of her finger tight, then a sharp pain like getting a splinter.

Our one was a darker colour, almost black, but still the brown was visible.

Chairman's Award: Chairman's Award - Issue reason: Your outstanding contributions to this community have not gone unnoticed. IN my view you are a worthy recipient of the (rarely used) Chairman's Award.
