I thought it was just my old age ears. Apparently not.
Background music playing during dialogue ....... Arggh.
Tom Cruise's mumbling ...........Argghh.
Bad sound editing, some scenes of normal dialogue are muted and blurry, turn up the volume, next scene, verbal BOOM, turn it down .... Argghhhh, f***.
If a show is in strong 'Merican or northern British Isles accents ...... turn it off as I just don't understand what they are saying.

No, BB was as bad on SBS originally but good example of crap sound quality.

Just doubling back for a bit… Did anyone else go to the secondhand/pawnbrokers auctions (Combined Auctions) in Wattle St, back in the day? I have this vague memory you could lob an offer from the floor. As in, maybe the auctioneer was pushing something up in fives or tens and it was at $180 but you wanted it and also to move on so you might make a verbal offer of $250 hoping that would bring the hammer down or at least thin out the bidders. Can’t think where else I might have seen this attribute.

You can do this in any auction, in person, online, over the phone whatever, at the end of the day its who has the deeper pockets, or overpays that wins the bid

You can start $5 auction with a $10,000 bid if you want and scare everyone off bidding.

I bid on a brand new Mercedes coupe with only 265ks on the clock at Pickles, my max I could go to was $28,000 including fees so while it was at $15,000 I put a bid in at $22,000, 1 guy bid once more and I won it at $23,000, with fees it came in under my max so I was happy.

Got home tonight and my aftermarket radio head unit plays up by not switching off, plus I lose some functions, Why is it these things happen when you don't have time to fix it, let alone trying to source another correct canbus module. aghhh I'm cursed!

Why is it some people will only fuel up on the side their filler cap is.
Went to my local last night because it's going up 50c today.
Cars were banked up onto the street, so I went around the back and came in that way.
Idiots 6 deep, no one on pumps 1 and 3, ran the hose across the boot to left side, thankyou very much, in and out.

I think it was my uncles GPak Torana that had the fuel filler behind the rear number plate. Really was a good idea, no need for left/right problem and no cutout/door flap in the side of your rear quarter.

It's pretty funny to then observe the indignant looks from those in the queue when you do opt for that method of filliage. Makes it worth the effort to keep the hose lifted off of the boot.

Quite a few servo's are one way in and out so don't encourage this madcap notion of facing the wrong way and a little hard to do it in a van facing the right way on the wrong side.

I have seen servo attendants reprimanding customers for pulling in and facing the "wrong" way, so it's not just single way servo's. Same for moving your car after filling to let others pull up to the bowser, they get real nasty on that one. I used to do that, but stopped after seeing enough people get in trouble for it.

There were a fair few of the 70's stuff and pre 70's had a fuel filler at the rear, only problem is you would pay for a full tank but only get to use half with a lead foot.

The worst servo etiquite is when there is a queue. Nothing wrong with unloading the kids then reloading them as you dont leave kids in an unattended car, its called parenting. But when people get back in their car but spend the minutes to post updates on their bookface or whatever before moving off. Possible more annoying is the current trend in my part of sydney of tesla drivers blocking pumps because the guys need to go into the servo to buy themselves tampons.

I've tried that a few times running the hose across or around the vehicle, but unfortunately with new bowsers these days the Fn fuel hose is too short.

One day a big Bp everyone faces north on the pumps
I turned the van round and faced south same side as filler
I grabbed what I thought was the diesel handle from it’s usual position ( that’s if I was facing north)
Went in to pay
Guy on said $83 for your 98 sir

Oh shirt full tank
Of 98 into a common rail diesel

That van was out of action for a few weeks

Somehow I didn’t even get a warning as between the weekend ( happened on a Friday night) the coy workshop and then getting palmed onto the vw dealer .. it all got painted as a mechanical component fail

Best one I had was not being able to use any pumps under a low roof with my trucks tank on the wrong side to the one way entry.
Happily filled up, when I returned, I had a mad caravan owner abusing me for coming in the wrong way (before him) and telling me I had to back up because he couldn't.

So he was towing a caravan without the necessary skills to reverse said caravan? I'm hardly an expert in reversing trailers, in fact I'm terrible at it, but he shouldn't be towing if he can't do that.

I was only in the little truck so I obliged. Thought the poor bugger was going to explode.

DFB You should watch them backing in at caravan parks, usually with the wife standing in their blind spot navigating orders like a rally co-driver.

I remember watching a show about know-it-all dad bragging to his family how he could back in the caravan at tbe park, and failing miserably. Along comes young kid, about 15 and offers to do it for $5 and gets it first go. He was the caravan park owners son. Wife was laughing.

From my observation the amount of people who cannot reverse properly is mind blowing, includes truck drivers, caravan owners and anyone who tows trailers.

Mates brother has a van park in the territory, his son does the same thing.

Meanwhile I moved a car trailer back 2m yesterday at work just bumping the towball against the coupling...

Could be worse. Glad i wasnt footing the bill, but years back i was at dinner in a high end restaurant and for entree i ordered the deconstructed pumpkin and fetta ravioli. For $49 of not my money it sounds fancy.

It was 2 sheets of cooked pasta with a dolop of pumpkin mixed with fetta beside it.
Atleast it wasnt false advertising.

Isn't that just veal schnitzel by any other name. (Veal being young beef)
I've heard butchers call it crumbed beef schnitzel down here.

Why is it the Australian Grand Prix, which has lost money for decades, but the recent surge in interest in the post covid world is not being fully realised due to a limit on the amount of tickets offered for sale? Sure the grandstands have a limited amount of seats but the park can accommodate many more people if they only want general admission access.
