Sedans and wagons are far from popular now… there’s little point in being in that market. Proved by the now no longer available Mondeo.

Way too expensive obviously and ultimate family car. Thing is mate Europe love wagons and practical cars. Here in Australia it's either small hatch, boring sedans like Camrys or trucks like Rangers. It's a huge hole in the market. |

Its just here that everyone is obsessed with big trucks instead of far better vehicles - 90% of these dual cabs do a school run as a daily. Last edited by MercuryT; 30-06-2021 at 06:49 PM. |

Australians buy 1 million new vehicles every year, give or take. Utes (not trucks) make up around 10 -15% of that, give or take. That means around 85 - 90% of buyers aren't buying utes.

I agree, the dual cabs aren’t good family cars (they do work for some though and that’s fine). But SUVs are the rage here (and in the US for example). We aren’t in Europe. Good sedans are available, same with wagons, they just don’t get bought

4wd vehicles like Rangers are not Ute's. Truck, pick-up but definitely not Aussie ute Any Falcon or Commodore had REAL Utes with awesome ones being an Xr8 or Xr6T (FPV and HSV included). Last edited by MercuryT; 30-06-2021 at 06:57 PM. |

Yes our market is as stupid as the USA i agree. Go to a school and its not hatches rather every Mum has some ridiculous 4wd they can't drive or park. Which sedans are good? |

Mazda 6, Hyundai Sonata both great cars. Upcoming Mazda 6 RWD with inline 6 will be a great thing no doubt

Just because you find them boring, doesn’t mean they are bad cars.

Long way to go yet - I doubt a Raptor would barely even sell there yet a cool quick wagon doesn't sell here unlike there. (Cue "go to Europe" comments but I'm just saying it from my point of view) |

I sold my falcon for Territory a few years ago and I can't see me ever going back to a sedan. So much easier to get in and out of and more versatile. Once the Territory has run its course I'll likely look at Everest etc. Once you go SUV you understand why they are so popular.

I said they were good cars. How about focus on my point that Ford don't have a quick sedan or wagon instead. |

The best cars have 8 cylinders, 4 doors, a large boot and long wheel base - just ask me and the other Uber drivers shuffling human freight between Melbourne CBD and Melbourne Airport
