You make a 6 hour round trip for parts you don't need but seeing as they were only $5 each you got them just incase.
Your car has more spare parts than you do clothes.

When you are looking for a replacement car my wife could not understand why I brought a Fairmont 5 liter from Victoria had it trucked to WA for my daily drive when it arrived she looked at sat in and wanted it as her daily. But I have admit the granddaughter loves Poppies car and I relent when my granddaughter has friends to be picked up they can ride in Poppies car.
working on your ford is like wetting yourself in a dark suit it gives you a warm sense of feeling that others do not under stand. |

Christmas day I park in the street on the gutter and fit mt new rear sway bar, while the rest of the house and street sit on there balconies.
The vacumn cleaner spends major time in the garage than in the house too.

^ Happy Birthday
On Christmas day you're just itching for your rellies to ask about your new car and you've already rehearsed what you're going to tell them about it.

you still have all your matchbox cars from when you were young. Including the ones you repainted all those years ago to look like your favorite race cars.

Mate if the 38 was mine it would already have a swamp cooler on it (I got one for the XP but never fitted it and the mrs hated it so it sits on the shelf waiting for my next toy car)

1. You wheel a shopping cart around the supermarket planning overtakes, braking marks, turn in points, and correcting for oversteer on exits.
2. You denounce someones car as a soft **** version because they went for the optional extra weight of a CD stacker and AC, even though it's a DD. 3. You always slightly judge prospective partners via their choice of car. 4. You can almost always find something "interesting" in any carpark. 5. You gladly spend 2 hours at 4000rpm in something with a rock hard ride and tyres so loud that you cant hear the radio just to get to a sprint meeting. 7. When you are stuck in traffic you start day dreaming about engine swaps for the cars around you. E.G. RWD RS8 conversions on Focus, V8's in MX5's or BMW E30's. 8. Someone tells you about their Ford Capri (SA30), GT (Mitsubishi 380), or Excel (Hyundai) and you automatically picture a Capri 3000GT, Ford Falcon GT (any of them) or a Lotus Excel SE. This also happens with any type of car they say the've got an MGA and you hope it's a twin cam, they say mustang and you hope that its a Shelby GT 350R replica, etc. 9. You are always suspicious of anything that looks like a "sleeper". Anything. 10. Your kids ask you to draw "something" and they always know that you will draw a car. 11. Pavlovian reaction means that you automatically think about your next mod, how you can afford your next mod and how it can improve your times when you are in the shower or on the can. 12. You doodle spoilers, inlets, frame layouts and suspension systems in work meetings. 13. in large shopping centre carparks you navigate your way too and from your car via make, model, colour of the "interesting" cars that are there.

When you have to move a XW and a XB, just to get to a XY. And you also understand and know the cars I just mention, by just two letters.

- You cringe when your mate is bragging about his $12,000 stereo in his car, and when you ask him about any mechanical work done, he replies with "Why would I spend any money on that?"
- When you're at a party and someone drives in with a nice and low commodore, and when you start a conversation about cars, you zone out when his first mod was "I cut the springs" - When your mum lets you borrow her 87 laser hatch for the week, and by the end of the week driving it, it has had an oil change, tyres rotated, intake & throttle body cleaned, and had a full cut & polish, just because after a drive you could tell the car was feeling a bit neglected...

The buckets, cloths, brushes and sponges are for washing your car only - this is not negotiable. Get your own.

You have car photos as the wallpaper on your phone - everyone else has pics of their kids and 'other half'.

When you fly to sydney for 3 days, to help your brother dismantle holdens, and of course take great glee in it.
