This is just a suggestion not a dig at anyone about their times.
But from what i can see there is alot of doubt in here with the top couple of times. Personally i think they are possible depending on how you drive, if you stay on the tarmac, or if you think your invincible and go crazy cutting corners and bouncing off walls. But if it is such a problem than why dont we race fully modded f6's? that way it will still come down to driver skill and there is no worries about who might have cheated or not. Because since aufairlanev8 made everyone aware of what the cheat was everyone seems to have become very doubtful and there is also a few times that have dropped dramatically. Just my opinion

I agree, there is one corner that you can cut on the Ring and I did a lap by cutting it and it saved me 1.4 seconds on that sector alone! The times I have submitted have been driving 100% on the tarmac and not bouncing off walls or cutting corners. I think it would come down to having to submit a replay as some of the times that are being put forward are suspiciously fast for a stock car. I just can't understand how I would be able to go a good 20 seconds faster like sbutlers time on this track without wall bouncing or corner cutting. I am on the limit of fastest laps personally I think.. :ticking:

Yeah i agree with everything said, but the only way we could get replays to validate them is to send in the memory cards and that could be a bit hard

Just for interest sake i dont know if it has been done before but i was thinking a race around bathurst on v8 supercars2 would be good because there is car damage and it would only be skilled driving that would get you around the track any wall bounces will end their race half way up the mountain in pieces. I know it has nothing to do with gt4 but i think it would be a good idea for another challenge maybe after this one.

i think for this track because it has already been picked and people have obviously put a lot of time into it is change to fully modded cars and next time we get a tight track so there is no corner cutting if that is a problem with anyone?

ok, people I am sorry for not being around also sorry to fordel who has been fantastic, I have no internet connection at home only at work and this has been down all day, I see that we have a few problems with various things, the timing issue can be a problem, and FPV 41T does have a valid point. However if there is people cheating than we have a problem, I think that fordel and I need to have a bit more of a think on where this comp is heading, we will keep you guys posted on what we will do to try and fix this problem.

OK, we are keeping the rules as they are, Arcade Mode, Tyre selection is free, Bounce off as many walls as you like, However the competition has been shortened by ONE MONTH. Yes the competition ends 31st of March, The winner will be the fastest time posted and proven by Midnight 31st of March. Following this competition we will be conducting a Drag strip competition, Details and Rules will be released April 1st. (And I will have to find another prize.....) Hmmmmmm where's my wife........?

Dunno what everyone else thinks but I wouldn't worry about a prize for the next challenge. You guys shouldn't have to keep coming up with stuff to give away. Plus people may be less worried if others are cheating or not if there's nothing up for offer in the end. Not saying anyone is either. If there's no prize you can choose to believe people or not and it doesn't really matter. Just my opinion.

Yes i have to agree no real need for more prizes IMO, was something special for the first of its kind, the others could just be for bragging rights
Also have thoughts on a teams event... not sure what how etc yet, but have something in the works, which could be interesting ! Chris

Well wall bouncing etc allowed = GHEY
You want to bounce off walls you obviously can't drive. Spose it's a flaw in GT4 allowing you to get away with it really. 7:36 is pure bullshit. An all out drag comp would be good as there is no way to cheat. Would be a lot of fun actually. Last edited by BA GT-HO; 22-03-2005 at 12:25 AM. |

And the point of that would be?
Who can bounce of the walls the best? I thought the idea was to stay on the track.. |
