Ford insiders on here have hinted at an updated front similar to the Territory.

Somethings not right with that car, why would it still have foglight surrounds/ foglights if it has drl's.
It almost looks like the old foglight surrounds have been placed over the top of whatever is there now to hide it. |

It's a red herring, or someone's trying to play a prank. The fairy lights simply look too tacked-on (I mean... more than they do on other cars).

Although I wonder how Drive would have spun it. Maybe it would go something like this: "Controversial new Falcon spied in the wild Joshua Dowling Ford are about to release the FG Series II, a much-needed update to the antiquated and slow-selling FG model currently in showrooms. Unlike Holden's VE Series II Commodore, it does not feature curtain airbags as standard, only on the super-expensive out-of-reach-by-99%-of-Australia G6E model. We have caught some spy photos of this vehicle, shown below: The FG Series II will be the last Falcon to come out of Australia before Ford will definitely replace it with an American-sourced front-wheel-drive Taurus, while Australia's own Holden will continue to manufacture the rear-wheel-drive Commodore here. The Commodore continues to dominate and has been Australia's best-selling car for 15 years. It also has standard curtain airbags across the range."

It's quite simple to work out if it's a factory car or private owner except the photo's don't show it clearly here. If there's a small brass tag on the number plate it means it's a factory owned car. Whether it's a PD vehicle or an employees "lease car" or company provided they have the tags for asset identification. IIRC different tag for different situation.

Anyone spied any real FG2 updates instead of that supercheap G6E-T?

Better late than never or rushed and end up with problems.
Ford must still be reeling from the EA days.

Reason why Ford is so behind with Falcon is because people won't support them.... We would have had FG 2 atleast 12 months ago if people actually put their money where their mouth was, but sadly those days are over. VF is not October... VEII hasnt even had its first birthday yet... |

Working on an October release, I haven't heard otherwise. Deliveries maybe in November.
They obviously do not want to release images and info until they have taken enough orders for the current model to fill production until then. Releasing info now may result in them coming up short for orders, or people changing their orders to get the update leaving more unsold FG's. I'd expect info in the next few weeks surely. |

What became of 'Huntsman'? I know it would have been canceled when the switch to the V6 was made, but upon reversal of that decision, was Huntsman back on the agenda or did something else take its place?

Not to sound retarded, but is it at all possible that the FG2 will come out sooner than we think. I mean, there have been some delays which have pushed the LPi into September before it hits showrooms... so probably October or so before anyone can actually have one delivered... sort of putting it into the timeline of the FG2?
It might sound silly, but the way I think about it is, why would Ford build up all these new LPi models (which hopefully get a lot of sales) in the FG when, according to sources, the FG2 is literally just around the corner... If it was me in charge, and assuming I have not missed anything obvious, I'd probably release the FG2 with LPi without telling anyone that the FG2 is coming. I'm probably very wrong though, wishful thinking. |
