Challenge for you next time you are up here Rob.
https://www.strava.com/activities/530450542 Strava did not register the Best of All Lookout climb because the Garmin did not track properly but Best of All Lookout is my first HC category climb. It is not too nasty, just long. if you can do O'Reillys you will get through this one.

Work related primarily, need to get out of metro ambulance before it drives me insane. On top of that the missus and I can get more land out rural for less money. We have no ties to Brisbane so it was a bit of a no brainer. Riding might be interesting though.

Customised the Enduro with some retro specialized decals.
Waiting now on some Renthal Fatbar Risers and grips, and a set of red Crank Brothers Mallet pedals. It's going to look sick! |

Let me know how the Renthal fat bars go, im thinking of getting some myself, im guessing these are what you are getting Danny?
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/a...r/rp-prod63501 Also how come no internal cable routing on the enduro?

Will do mate. Yeah those are the bars.
Not sure why there's no internal routing. All the other ones at the shop were the same as well as my mates two carbon enduros. Should I say something to the shop? There is a hole on the front right side of the TT but it would only take one cable. So not sure.. EDIT: Just had a quick look. Enduros have one internal cable port for the Command Post. Despite that, my Command Post has been routed externally. Might have to get that re-routed. |

Yeah internal cables tidy up the frame a little.
How are you finding the Pikes?

TBH mate I've literally been a week into the sport now, so I don't know what to look for. They are better than any other shock I've ever had in a bike I can tell you but that doesn't say much - the last bikes I had with shocks were kids bikes when I was young, just entry level Suntour stuff.
My mate has a set of those Gold Fox 36's and he reckons he loves my Pikes. At $1500 a fork they'd wanna be good!! |

Speaking of cables... left home this morning for a longish ride, got to the main road, and PING! The chain dropped down to the 11th gear on the cassette when the shift cable broke. Lucky I was only 400m from home, because being stuck on 39/11 ratio wouldn't have been fun going up any incline.
Quick trip to the LBS, and bought a new cable - the cable frayed inside the shifter itself, which made it a PITA to get the end out. I'm thinking I should replace the front derailleur cable , even though it doesn't get as much use.

Its good to have something to keep a record of your biking progress, i`m pretty happy , today the weather was super grouse in melb , perfect riding conditions ,
i have found a nice little route from resa that runs along merri creek path towards the city , around coburgish i head west to glenroy then up to jacana via suburbia , then back to home via the western ring path which makes a nice round 20.4 ish kilometers . there`s a nice mixture of bends and small hills , well not really hills , you blokes would call them crest`s probably(they are hills to me ). Any way i took off today felling pretty good except a bit of hip pain which is pretty normal for me , but i ride through it, and usually after while either i dont notice it or it goes away until i get home and cool down , but anyway everything fell into place , wind was just a slight breeze , a magnificent 22 celcius. i kept a good pace for this old fart that i was happy with ...... do you ever think to yourself ...." jeezus im on fire today " , well that was the ride i had today , broke my personal best on same route ive been doing mostly for the last couple of weeks. average speed 23.2 kp/h duration 52.57 mins max speed 42.4 km/h distance 20.47 kilometres calories burnt 777. hope you guys had ....... or have a good ride too. |

It's a good tool in your lose weight arsenal Coolbfwagon , , about 6 months ago ago I was pushing high 21 stone , I broke into the sixteens last week , not all biking, a bit of abstaining from loli water, sugary stuff and a bit less tucker overall, but I would say the biking for me is most of it.

Fitted up some shimano Ice Tech rotors to replace the SLX rotors i had, whilst they were still good. Already ive noticed a better brake lever feel. Also fitted up a mudguard as im sick of rocks getting stuck in tyre and scratching the underside of my forks. Will also be good for winter.

Hey fella's I've been watching two old bike movies on youtube to get me pumped for riding again next week.
They're mountainbike movies called 'Chainsmoke' and Chainsmoke 2'. The first one was made all the way back in 1996 and the second in 2001. Both movies are great to watch and the soundtracks are mostly heavy metal/grunge music. Here's the links......Have fun!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJnzdLfh3Kc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlLYLAyFgYI |

Just phoned the local bikeshop to see how my new wheels are going.....the front wheel had to be ordered and assembled.
Thers something wrong with the rear hydraulic brakes.....He mentioned that he thinks the piston seal is faulty in the maser cylinder. So now my repair bill is going to be more than the $500 he originally quoted me. Oh well wot can I do.....the bike has been in storage for about 4 years. Looks like i wont be riding by tmrw......gotta wait a couple more days. Not happy!!! |

The bike is awesome....Are the gears carbon fibre as well as the frame? I thought you only rode bikes that have motors in them lol!! You are like me you like anything with two wheels. How much does a new Carbon Fibre bike like that weigh? Last edited by GASWAGON; 04-04-2016 at 06:38 PM. |
