None of the media seem interested in the fact that Ford Aus are employing more engineers, investing millions and are currently flat out with many different projects. They're more interested in the typical doom-and-gloom headline grabbers about factories closing.. *shakes head*

Spyman,
Do you know if they are keeping the full rear boot spoiler like on the current FG XR6 or are they going with the slimmer looking spoiler like the pic of the Jag that I posted? Same as VF SV6? Last edited by Renegade; 13-04-2014 at 10:19 AM. |

Personally I reckon the 2014 Falcon's rear lights will look better than the 2015 Ford Mondeo/Fusion's!

Looks like the trip running across the boot between the two lights is split into two. Upper section is painted and lower section (connecting the white part of the lenses) is chrome.
I also appears that the indentation in the boot lid for the number plate section is a lot more gradual and overall wider compared to the FG. Should look nice.

I hope they do something really special for the launch, emphasizing what a part of Australian scenery it's become over the years and what a unique product it is in the Ford world. Someone should make a montage of Falcons: from Bathurst winning GTHO's, to rusty abandoned XD-Fs in the Top End to a fleet of BF taxi wagons. Submit it to Ford for use at the launch event. Spyman is doing more to generate interest than Ford is, so I hope they take notice and give the car the celebration it deserves, instead of suppressing it to promote future models.
One need only look to FoA's fB page to see people STILL commenting angrily when they ignore Falcon. I know the commercial reality etc, but they should do everything they can to appease their loyal fan base and give Falcon the respect it deserves. PS Back end looks hawt. |

It would be like doing a tourism video for Australia and including Adelaide and Canberra (haha... I'm joking...partially...) Ford are being a lot nicer than many of their "fans" have been. This forum probably demonstrates the stark differences between the two types of Ford fans. You've got a few people willing to put down their hard-earned cash on performance Falcon. These are the true fans. Then you've got quite a few more who haven't stopped bagging Ford for the last 12 months (and, might I add, have never bought a new Ford and don't intend on doing so). The latter have filled up Ford's facebook page with rubbish whinging about how Ford aren't going to build a car they weren't going to buy anyway. These are also the type who'll whinge when Ford launch a 351kW special and how Ford can launch a face lifted Falcon even though they're not going to make any money of it. And then they'll whinge that Ford aren't revealed photos of their still-secret new car simply because people want to see it. I mean, how dare they do what every other successful company does and keep it's own trade-secrets until it decided it's right to launch the new product... |

I suggested the rusty ones, because for better or worse its one of many images of Falcon on our scenery, and would add a post modern twist. I am somebody looking to buy one, just wanted to throw some ideas around. I don't have unrealistic expectations, all i ask is they do something cool with the launch. Holden's easter Egg hunt with VF wouldn't be hard to top. |

To be honest lots of what Ford does frustrates me, not releasing FH stuff yet is not one of them. The launch of the GTF is a classic. I'm a very fact driven person and really need more detail than what they've given me to decide on a purchase. At this late stage all the info should be there but it's not!

I'm often a defender of Ford's marketing team but the GT-F launch is a joke. They've released absolutely nothing other than the fact that it's coming. Oh, and the price... It would have been an improvement even if they'd just revealed the new badge! |
