Was following this for a while today on the M2 freeway. I was in the partners Mitsi Mirage... and grandad was booting his 'stang' from 80 - 120 kays an hour to blow out the webbs.. didn't go that well. Wasn't 'spanking' me as I expected. Yes sure, it pulled away, but not as rapidly as I expected it would, being such a minter. 289 badge on the guard.

Pretty sure I got busted by a new mobile phone detection camera using my phone about 10 seconds after taking this pic .. BUGGA!

This one comes under the category of Cars you don’t see many of anymore. The tyres protruding a few inches beyond the guard look a bit dodgy.

Yes me to.. Re: the mobile phone detection cam... bugga moment.

Today's spot: an original XB ute, 250 column auto in cream. Good nic to.
Next was Nana in her orange 4 door LJ torrie, original owner I suspect, judging by the condition.

And the winner goes to:

Very nice resto. Sounded tough as. Had the opportunity to get embarrassed at a red light, but decided against it. The TRD is 'quick' to me, but it's still just a taxi. lol. A nice taxi..

A good dash cam will take reasonable pictures and costs less than a phone fine.

I’ve seen three Munros in the last two weeks - a red HQ in the back of Marrickville, a red HT or HG on Victoria Rd Drummoyne, and a white HK (I think) on Beecroft Rd. That’s excluding the workshop’s space-waster.

There was also a model T on the other side of the road where I took this pic. Didn't have time to grab a happy snap... as there were a few cars waiting behind me, and funny thing is, the nearest guy was waiving at me... sure wish he'd use all his fingers next time he waives at me...

Cheers,

Only positive about mobile phone detection cameras being i can tell my spawn to can their GenZ expectation of dad responding instantly to their endless messages. If you want a conversation, spoken english works well though your endless acronyms and sidesteps to memes will abandon you. I've never known such peace.

Volvo 440GLT in Hunter’s Hill this afternoon. Think it’s years since I last consciously observed one.

Commiserations on the fine FTE, I think next year the in-force average speed “safety” camera on Vic Pass will also nab a huge number of Bathurst-goers. It’s not the cash value of fines that irks me, but the $150 impost per green slip, times three or four years.

Today's effort, and trust me, it was an effort. Totally crapola day..

This doesn't fit the category / thread, but it's DEFINITELY worth a mention..

Audi RS6...

doing a delivery today and this guys rolls up behind me truck. Man, what a presence. Real low growly idle. Beautiful humm.

After the guy hopped out, (picture him) no suit and tie, just an average joe in jeans and a tee shirt, no thongs... but beach type shoes.

I started hassleing him on the front brakes.. I says, maaate, did you go for the poverty pack option? He says, yeah, it's got 10 piston calipers...
I said: mate, I thought I had the biggest willy (d i c k ) having 6 piston jobbies. He says: I got ten pistons cause I'm trying to compensate for my lack of size!

Real down to earth guy who obviously earnt his coin.. on the tools and enjoyed my haggling. As he was walking into the restaurant he said something, and I said, maaate, I can't affort (my guess ta mut) $180k.. he said me either, that's why I went for the pov pack at $300k.
I said, maaaate, I can't even afford to take a photo of ya brakes.. he laughs, he said: go for it..

Ok ok, the pics already...

Okay, drool mode off and back to reality..

Spotted this LC Torrie on an earlier delivery:

On my next delivery I spotted an absolutely brand spankers Troop carrier: Total resto I'm guessing. My pics don't do it justice. This thing was as new.

Next up was this XR5 Focus, Franco has mentioned these and I thought I'd post this pic to see if this was the 'good' model they made.

Like porky pig says...

epppa epppa that's all folks.

My daughter got a lovely photo session posted to her the other day. A very nice pic of her in her car with the phone, as clear as day, on her lap.

Now, I don't condone anyone driving whilst using their phone, and I certainly don't sympathise with my daughter for getting caught. But, is the $1209 fine and four demerit points really necessary to teach a lesson? Especially for a kid trying to make it on her own and only earning a couple of hundred $$ a week? That's four weeks' pay for her! Has certainly changed my attitude towards transport fines and their value. I know its not prefect, but having fines as a percentage of someone's taxable income would certainly be a fairer system!

The rule has a good reason, Just this year a friend of my sons sister killed a passenger in her car while she was on the phone, so it does really have to be a deterrent, If it was $200 and 1 point its not going to stop anyone, they have to make it hard so people learn, Its tough, but I'm sure your daughter will learn form this.

Spotted a HSV Avalanche XUV today. Take a hideously ugly Frankenstein Holden Crewman, jack up the ride height, add AWD, then plaster the car in as many plastic addons as possible, and when they stepped back to admire their creation, they then decided to add even more tacked on plastic. The end result? The answer to a question no one asked.

I guess the same applies to the Coupe 4. Take a gorgeous Monaro coupe, hack off some of the wheel arches, then glue on some plastic wheel arch flairs to cover up the increased track of the AWD system. Then, because of the AWD system, they had to fit a less powerful engine and brakes due to space restrictions. In other words, they took a perfectly good V8 grand touring coupe and made it worse. Again, the answer to a question no one asked.

I remember at the time the press going ga ga over this thing, that "Holden created an Audi Quattro". Bla bla bla. And yet, it was slower, braked worse, steered worse, and was auto only. And the most crucial failure? How on earth would the cashed-up bogons do a burnout in an all-wheel-drive Monaro? Sales reflected this.

Spotted today on the freeway heading towards Murray Bridge.
Maybe the original owner. Dead stock apart from a droney exhaust.
