I saw a 1976 2 Door Galant wiz past today.

A car that had long slipped my memory but a pleasant surprise to see that these now old and not so common cars survive.

Don't have any pics.. but last night, was up in the Adelaide hills fangin around some twisties on my favorite road and got my front number plate sucked off by a series II Nissan Bluebird, both in a straight line and around corners:

After he made my balls shrink... and was parked, I caught up with him and had a chat. Turns out he's running an SR 20 Turb with plenty of boost making around 300+ kilo wasps at the treads. Quick thing. Nothing to look at, shitty brown colour. But I have total respect for it, as it handled, and was quicker than a cut snake.
Felt good to be embarrassed by an old school weapon. He new all about about my car, what it is etc. He was impress at how well my 'Taxi' went.
My biggest problem was I ran out of grip. I need WAY more stickier tyres if I'm ever going to have a chance at keeping up with him... let alone staying in front of it. Good times.
I guess it's still 'just a taxi' with a blower, shocks / springs / brakes etc.. A fun taxi... albeit.

Over and out,

One Man

Edit resident evil:the final chapter. It just gets rear ended at 16:16 mins:secs

Tidy WB from a few weeks ago

Similar vein to the RS6 posted some days ago, this thing was on another level just had to get a pic of it, had to google it so see what model roller it was and was genuinely shocked with the asking price of a similar example on Carsales!

Wondering if his name is Rusty and he is 73 or perhaps the car is a well mo 73' HQ ute.
The rear side repeater indicators are missing suggesting its a WB along with the plastic tail lights surrounds but I have seen plenty Q's to Z's without them.

Still bloody nice ute

A pinky purple coupe yesterday.
Caught it in the sidemirror as it lined up behind the car behind me. It turned off before I got a better look.

Lots of Vals / Pacers around over the weekend

Again, the answer to a question no one asked.

I remember at the time the press going ga ga over this thing, that "Holden created an Audi Quattro". Bla bla bla. And yet, it was slower, braked worse, steered worse, and was auto only. And the most crucial failure? How on earth would the cashed-up bogons do a burnout in an all-wheel-drive Monaro? Sales reflected this.
Not going to lie, the HSV cues on those look amazing, but yeah the rest i agree with you re performance and what not.

Also that RS6 and WB ute posted earlier look amazing.
RS6 is my lotto win car!

This one, whilst its new. Was equipped with a manual transmission!
We were discussing it over a cpl beers, not knowing the owner was on his room balcony just above us. We were positive about it being a manual, i reckon he was late 60s or so.

Wow, that green charger is absolutely gorgeous. That colour just rocks!

Here's a few from today and yesterday.. something for everyone in this lot:

XA 63,000 mile original minter in copper bronze. My favorite Cortina / Falcon / Fairlane colour bar none.
I was lucky enough to have a chat with the owner for 15 mins or so while picking up a pallet of wine from a vineyard. Seems like every vineyard I go to lately has an amazing find...

Next...
EA or EB Fairmont Ghia one owner grandad spec minter. Shame it was on LPG..

Lastly drove past a car yard of sorts on a back street and found these:

Cheers,

One Man

Id for sure pick either of the RWD siblings hands down. I just like the styling of the Coupe4.
Speaking of RS6.
Seen this one a few times now, in the best colour also IMO.

Was very close to buying a second hand ED XR6 in cobalt blue as my first car. Very keen on it and was discussing price with the dealer when they sold it from under me.

As much as I loved my polynesian green ED classic that I bought instead, I still rue that missed opportunity.

Spotted this Leyland P76 in the back streets near the Queen Elizabeth Hospital earlier today. According to a rego check it is supposed to be purple.

The front grille was missing but apart from that it looked in good nick.

Wow, spotted a few I couldn't get pics of.. BUT... here are the ones I did manage to snap:

AWD Magna in mint nick Where's the clear coat peel?
Original owner judging by the condition of the car and the age of the bloke.

Next up.. something I've not seen before.. XF XG XH? Ute that give the word 'Longreach' a new meaning:

Last on the snappy list: One owner VC Vacationer 202 4 speed.
Got talking to the owner... as ya do.. and he said his dad bought it new, and when he passed, it was bequeathed to him. Even has wipers on the headlights (missing) and washer jets on the front bar. Never seen that before... even on SLE's I mean... and I'm a VH SLE long time lover.

That's it folks.
