I read somewhere that the Fox Footy channel would stop televising after the grand final this year and they would create this channel, wonder now if they will stop, seems to coincide nicely. Gotta agree, never enough sport on TV

dosnt look like this channel will be available for the base backage digital. Will be interesting to see how much new content is on their compared to just re-runs of the other two sports channels programs.

Has anyone else noticed the inclusion of channel 500 on foxtel digital??
Basically a 'sport portal' channel(similar in loof to news active) that has all the sports channels on the one page that you can see what's on the other sporting channels. Dunno how long it's been available for - I found it the othernight whilst flicking about.

/me HOPES against HOPE that they start showing Ice Hockey matches again!!

Bit late now, the season is almost over! Im having to resort to streaming all the games in the playoff series. But here's hoping that they have it back on for the 2006/07 series

Tis a royal pain!!!! (mind you my team performed less then admirably this year - so missing out on seeing them get taken to the cleaners wasn't missed.
Do you support the Australian Hockey scene at all?? I know a couple of members on here that do.

Wulos...Fox hasnt thrown the NHL on ESPN or FOX1/2 because the NHL no longer has a tv contract in the US. The strike ruined it for them. They might next season pay someone to give them airtime, which might enable us to get some games.

the Sportsportal channel is here for good, they added that along with the Foxsports news channel(511) on digital, very similar to Eurosports channel (513).

As far as Fox 3 is concerned, they better not start showing bass fishing like ESPN do, i love fishing, but i dont want to watch it on tv.

I wasn't aware of that! Comes as a bit of a suprise considering the amount of support the NHL enjoys, especially in Canada. (I know Canada/US are /were different licences)

I had it all planned out, when I came to Cairns I was going to learn how to ice skate and join a local ice hockey team, called them up, they had closed down the week before. :jab: Not impressed, wont be able to play until I go back to brisbane, and im 19 now, starting to think its a bit late to pick up a new sport, and the equipment costs a bloody fortune. But i did used to go and watch the Blue Tongues play sometimes.

More Rugby Union about time! Warritahs Vs NZ Maori is this friday and it's not aired at all as far as i can tell . FOX 3 maybe the difference.

yea mate. we got the basic package and you can watch espn and fuel tv through that with sound. but its only a small picture though

I love the Premier, Spanish and even the dutch league soccer but 10 to 1 says they will play so much GAY league on the new channel it will make baby jesus cry!

I want a motorsport channel dammit!!!

To cram Australian Motorsport into a 1 hour showing of a repeat of Inside Speed just doesn't cut it!

Well im still on analogue so no big deal, but will be going digital as soon as all the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed on the retransmission of FTA channels via cable. They've all been draggin their heels on this in SA because 9 is owned by a different company here than it is in the eastern states.

HTCURRY - i jumped for joy when I caught game 1 the other day and saw the last two periods of game two last night. I was worried we wouldnt get the finals after ESPN dropped the hockey following the lockout. They've been playing em live then repeating at night.

Looks like the canes are playing real strong - cant get a trick past ward in goals. Is the main oilders keeper still hurt following game 1??

Yup the keeper is gone for the season, major knee damage. The kid they played in game 1, they dont trust, so they played a 3rd keeper in game 2.

He has been inactive for the last 3 months..very rusty so things arent looking good for them.

Playoff hockey is the best, no place for the weak-hearted

Im not suprised. Pretty major stuff up interacting with the defense in game 1. Lol, i was backing the oilers to win the cup but seeing them fail to capitalise on the power play and now not having a solid plan in goals... not a good place to be....

Ive been watching the games online, but now that you say ESPN have been showing the games I'll have to check it out. Was hoping the Oilers would win the Cup, I was extremely impressed the way the played against the mighty Red Wings, but alas, with Dwayne Roloson out of goal, it looks to be mighty unlikely.
