Default Att. QLD Members. Kelvin's Brock is nearly finnished

After 2 1/2 years of raw finger tips and a bunch of other pain and suffering, the engine bay and under body is finnished. The only things left to do now is get the Haltech and wire it in and have the rest of the car painted. Here are some photo's.

Damn it, the other three engine bay shots I wanted to post won't play the game cause I posted them in the 'show us your engine bay' thread. If anyone knows how to overcome this please let me know.

I might clarify at this point that this is not my car so all the details are not readily available. There are some things that Kel wants to keep to himself untill the beast makes it's first registered appearance.

The engine bay didn't cost that much money. I cost much pain and suffering! Patience is required!

Also that photo of the exhaust is decieving, it's not actualy that close to the ground. That photo tripped me out when I took it cause with me head under there the clearences looked totaly different.

For anyone wondering, the extractors can't be bought. They are custom made, along with the rest of the exhaust by FatPipes at Kallangur (32857417 for interested members). The extractors are HPC coated along with the inlet manifold. Everything in the engine bay was painted or polished by Kelvin, he ought-to-be congratulated for his efforts, it looks awesome.

that looks awsome. looks like alot of time went into polishing and colour coding. i really like the brake booster polished (or whatever is done to it). hope mine turns out at least half as good as that.

Yeah I know EB Pete, I'm just about to have everything out of my engine bay too and I think Kel's gonna help me with the engine bay. Not really looking forward to rubbing it back. The wiring is deffinately Kelvins job cause if I did it nothing would work!

i thought about hiding most of the wiring for about a whole of 2 seconds! i don't know how they do it! but those idel pullys ect have givin me a few ideas.

Yeah man Kelvin said the same thing about hiding wiring. We had a look at some other dudes car down at Broad Water Car Park a couple'a years ago and it looked like a right nightmare. Plus who cares about the wiring being visible unless you acctualy want to compete in shows and stuff. For a street car it's a waste of time.

No the orange stays. It's the old XW GT colour sceme, silver and orange.

well, i think those extractors look pretty rough actually, and appear to be a direct copy of comp style pacemakers.. would have been a lot nicer to use pacemakers

i would have to say, the roughest looking parts are the head flange welds, and the straight piece of pipe coming out cockeyed on cyl.3

The extractors in this Brock have much larger primarys than the Pacy Comps(PH4480) although aparently the new 4480's have 41mm primaries rather than the old 38mm.

Is it me or is that a 2.75/3" exhaust? ;) NA with 2.75/3" somone looks to be pretty damn serious!

they do look similar to pacey comps, but much bigger...

i might have to investigate the larger primaries for the later comp extractors

well, i can tell you that the std comp's were not the same as what the saloon cars run, they are the same design, but the saloons had the larger primarys same as the original paccies.. i had a set exactly same as the saloons.

im not up to date with them recently since going turbo, but the new 4480's may well have been upgraded to 41mm

so std 4480's have 1.5in primaries, the 4480's i had were 1 5/8primaries part #EAB42
