well after spending alot of money rebuilding my engine, auto, diff and painting the engine bay i found some rust today. i don't know how it got there as there was never any there when i was driving it around so maybe there's abit more to the picture. i read on here a while ago about rust always showing up in the sil and you should always take the gaurds off and check it/clean it out. is that the normal spot cause i think i'll take a good look over the whole car now. so any other places you know of please let me know. heres a pic of the rust.
it was dark when i took the pic so sorry bout the quality. the rust is on the drivers side front sil (i think you call it), when you get into the car its right at your feet. pete j |

Other common areas are around the guards. I had a patch of rust just above the sill, between the rear door and the wheel arch. I had it fixed. I'm now starting to see a tiny bit on the top edge of the rear wheel arch. Another area is the top of the windscreens, and don't forget the spare wheel well
