Hey everyone, I have just purchased a 1974 Escort XL *completely stock and original*
I was just wondering what the engine is, its a 1300 and Im pretty sure that its one of the pre-crossflow donks, but I cant be sure *dont have the car yet, its being trucked up to me* I was also wondering if this is technically a Mk1 or is it just the same shape? I dont think so because I was sure that all Mk1's never came with a pre-crossflow engine and Im "pretty" sure mine isn't. Any way, all info welcome. Cheers in advance, Mitch. |

Sweet, thanks for that, you lads reckon it would be worth doing up the 1300 at all?
Or just go for the Pinto. My mate has a Ke70 corolla with a 4K-C engine *1300cc*, with some slight better carb, stock internals, and a semi worked head, or at least just a mild cam. When he first got it, we went for a little bit of a thrash, I could sworn that it had a great big turbo in the front, just because it was that agressive with the cam. Push you back into your seat and all. We later found out It was running on only 3 cylinders... So I reckon the 1300 would be good for a bit of street fun, thats all Id want it for, no track or anything. I can go Pinto later on if I get bored anyway. Cheers, Mitch. |
