Default aufalcon.com domain gone again

Hi, does anyone know who manages the aufalcon domain now? It appears to have been lost again.

Andrew.

We don't get the renewal notices for the .com domain as they will go to the listed registrant and by the look of the info I'd say it has expired.

The .com.au one which we do manage is working fine as far as I can see.

Cheers
Russ

If you add ".au" to your link, it works fine.

There are still links within the website that link to .com pages.

Including clicking on the 'car of the day' that link does not work. You can log onto the website yes, but half the website map is unaccessable.

Ideally, we'd want to retain the .com domain as it's shorter and all the stickers on our cars feature this domain.

We will have to wait a few days for the records to update so we can contact the moron who snapped it up as soon as it expired.

I tried the email registered with the domain (Casper's) and it bounces back with a "no such user" error.

I suppose we could always just get a limited run of ".au" sticker bits to append onto the existing aufalcon.com stickers. It'll fit into my window. It'd have to be the same font and size.

Anyone else find it ironic that originally you did not have .au for a site about AU's!

The domain should be locked? Allowing its rightful owner a chance to pay their domain renewal? Then it would be released for sale...

Man, working in IT its crazy how often I see this happen.. Tech contact same as administritive contact, then people move on etc.. People dont think about it till its too late, then its "omfgwtf *panic stations*... :alien2:

EDIT: decided to have a look, as I suspected...

Good to hear, exactly what I was referring to when I said "locked".

I do this sort of thing all the time, really can be a pain..

It shouldn't be in Caspers name as he gave it to us 2 years ago when it went hay wire then, along with the .com.au loggin . I have just got off the phone to him and he will have it sorted next week asap , also he will notify them of the new owner and addresses which will be mine for the moment, then when that side of it is sorted I will then hand it over to AFF admin

Always pays to do a quick "whois" search when updating / selling / passing on Domain names, Saves hassles like this!

At least then you know who'll get the email when the bill is due to be paid
