Hi Guys,
On the job tomorrow are: Scott; DASH GT; geckoGT; Dazzler; SLO AU XR8; MS33; Aspro (mate of mine) Sunday, so far (may need more): Scott; DASH GT; DJM83; The Monty Col (mate of mine) anyone else?? So far, we have the following sorted for Saturday: Food - (25 bags onion, 300 sausages, 20 loaves bread etc) Scott; Extra Meat - MS33 Plates, Sauces, Napkins, Sunscreen, Garbage Bags, trays & covers - Scott Shelter - Scott Trailer BBQ - DASH GT Gas - DASH GT & Scott; Drinks - DASH GT, geckoGT & Dazzler; Ice - Scott, Dazzler; Handwash - DASH GT; Food Gloves - Scott; Utensils - DASH GT, geckoGT & Scott; Cupcakes - Mrs DASH GT Things I can think that we still need: Chopping boards; Insect Repellent; Eski's & Ice - MORE MORE MORE!!! Hand wash Sunday, we will need more of the above and may need to take up a collection to help cover costs. Special thanks to Bryan Byrt Ford, The Gallagher Group and AFF Members for making this simple little idea come to life! Meeting place is Elite Automotive, map & address HERE. Meet at 10:30 for 11am departure. edit - DRESS APPROPRIATELY Kind of obvious I know, but our health and safety comes first guys. Things to remember to wear/bring: Hat; Sunnies; Stout boots/shoes; Long Pants (perhaps bring shorts too incase we're in a suitable area); I think we have enough drinks to cover us, but if you get the chance bring your own; We have your food covered; I have sunscreen & panadol with me; Remember, this is a private gig. I offer no insurance, coverage or protection and carry no liability over anyone who attends. Everyone who attends does so of their own volition and at their own risk. Dazzler said something about handwash on the phone to me earlier on, I can bring an esky and some more ice too! Somehow I don't think Mum would be too happy with me flogging her kitchen gear....

The handwash needs to be the self drying, waterless stuff. If no-one has any, I will try to get some when I pick up the snags & bread tomorrow morning.

I have had quite a few PM's with offers of donations and at this stage I have been declining as I really don't know if we'll be successful. I'd hate to take donations that might have been better spent on the formal appeal sites. By tomorrow afternoon, I will have a mch better idea of where we are at and if successful will be happy to take donations to replenish for the Sunday shift. Please, if you are happy to donate, drop your name in here so I know who to contact should things all go to plan. Thanks again, Scott |

The plan tomorrow is to go to an area that has hungry people in it and give them a sausage sandwich, drink and maybe a cupcake and choccy if rations stretch far enough. I figured that lots of people would be going home to places that are hot, wet, stink, have no power and rotten food in them... so I thought a BBQ might be nice for them. At this stage, I have no plans for myself, or any of the other generous forum contributors to clean up, but you never really know until we get there. An army can't march on an empty stomach... |

Ive got a gerni here but its a 240v one, no good as I dont awnt anyone risking their lives using power in house that wont have been checked by a qualified electrician.

Sunday would be good too, I am starting to think we could run a few kitchens if we could scrape together enough cash for supplies. The Monty is bringing a heap of meat on Sunday - will need all the other stuff to go with it too. |

If i lived around there & not been affected by water i would have helped out you blokes at the BBQ & also done the signs on water proof corflute & cut vinyl letters for you, but i don't. so your A4 sheets will have to do mate as long as the message sends the right vibe it is all good Last edited by turboxf; 14-01-2011 at 11:26 PM. |

Just another thing that will burden home owners, any electricians out there with nothing to do that can discount for some of these people?? I am just so greatful none of my properties were affected, the small effort and money put towards feeding these people tomorrow is nothing!! Sadly there will be still people going to the magic millions tomorrow without a care in the world...
