Default 5.0 litre Efi conversion to XT falcom

Hi all, I recently purchased a 1994 5.0 litre automatic fairlane, I am looking to transfer all the running gear and driveline into my XT wagon, has anyone done something similar and are there any major issues I should worry about? I have the complete running fairlane so emmision controls and wiring shouldn't be a problem, any advice would be great. Cheers Aussie

I know someone who put a 4 litre from an EB into an XW, electronics was the big issue the XW now has central locking and smart lock.

Yeah I'm tipping the wiring will be the major issue, a guy messaged me today and said he had someone that could strip the unneeded parts out of the wiring loom for me, central locking would be nice but I think I can manage without it!!

The smart lock will be the issue, so get rid of that and just fit after market Central locking if you want it

Hi Just finished doing this to my ZD Fairlane.

Killa Kustome Cables in Gympie can remove all the unnecessary wires from the loom.

You will need either a J3 chip or a smartlock bypass module which can be found on ebay to get around the smartlock immobiliser.

The factory manifolds might work but Castle Auto electrics do headers to suit because the e series has the starter on the passenger side of the block.

Castle auto electrics also do a extension for the gearbox cross member or you can make one yourself.

You will need a efi fuel system, I went with a surge tank mounted under the floor under the rear seat with an 044 in it from 034Motorsport
https://store.034motorsport.com/full...fuel-pump.html
or you could use something like this
http://fitechefi.com/40003.html

and sort out some electric fan/s for the radiator, I just used the twin fan setup from an ef.
