One of those shoved into a new Mondeo would be a good way to heal the Falcon wound

That engine in an AWD Mondeo would be epic.

Maybe something for that Prodrive/Tickford setup that was being talked about?

I think its an amazing driveline. And I'm sure the engine is more than capable of doing what its supposed to. From what I can gather it's a de-tuned version of what is in the GT (please feel free to correct me!). If that is the case i'd be more than confident with the amount of engineering and testing it has gone through.

Keep up the amazing work on all these hi-po models Ford.

A great Ford video here on what it's capable off.

Nanny nation wouldn't allow such adverts to sell cars. Lucky the interweb came along for those of us that despise such clowns and their regulations.

*although the flat plane cranked v8 from the mustang GT350-R would soon make up for fuel burn complaints !

not disagreeing at all.

But you know that the V6 is crap, the I6 should have been used, cause you know...right?

Why buy a Raptor when you could buy a Focus with even better fuel economy.

When I think Raptor I think of an outrageous 'truck' for thrashing through the desert straight off the showroom floor. Part of that package is a huge, rumbling V8.

If you want economy, buy a standard F-150.

That huge rumbling V8 won't do much good if it were racing against a 2017, and getting left in the dust. I doubt the 2017 driver would hear you yelling "but mine sounds better!" Better throttle response, more rapid acceleration, lighter weight, better handling, better jumping. Speaking of V8's though, there is word that a 5L V8 twin turbo will be an option later.

At least Ford globally is building interesting/exciting cars in all market segments to many maunfatures are going soft and boring or only have put their interesting stuff into one market segment Ford has Truck hyper hatch pony/muscle car and hyper sports car all with some class leading technology

The move to V6 in the raptor is not just a well tuned eco boast engine but they have put the F150 on a massive diet with state of the art alloy construction. The chassis and body are stronger more ridged and lighter with a higher crash rating, pretty cool in this age of cars being forced to get heavier just to comply with ever increasing standards

The ford explorer also has the same engine in the top models albeit it slightly lower tune and also would be great to see in Aus

That's a modern day GMC Syclone in the making, much like xr6t was the VL turbo successor. Ford, install this engine into Ford Ranger. Please.

More like Ford, make the F-series RHD at the factory and send them to Oz.

The jury is still out on whether we will be getting the Mondeo sport
2.7 ecoboost AWD.

After all in 2015 was the 3rd highest volume selling vehicle in the world, add in RHD and would not take much to be the highest, as would have only taken another 90,000 units to be the highest (about 10% increase)

That would be the ideal, and should be the One Ford strategy but for some unknown reason, Ford seem to have a thing for manufacturing things in Thailand

I'm not suprised that a new v6t is quicker than an older v8.
I bet if they had the V6 turbo and that 5L v8 turbo side by side in showroom, the v8 would probably sell better.

Then again you're American. You get V8s in Taxis and commercial vans. I guess V8s would lose some of their appeal since they are quite common.

Looks like the V6 works just fine. I love how roomy these things look too. I reckon the Raptor would sell lot hotcakes if we had the option here.

I think that's personal Opinion ahead of Public?
As much as I like them they are extremely unpractical which kind of rules out selling like hotcakes

Surely Ford Aus has to be close to launching a Raptor version of the Ranger.

Unless they can match the re engineering effort, I don't think they should bother.
