Default My Story

Hey guys, I'm new to the E-series forums, so i thought i'd tell you my story.

Once, there was an EB falcon. Such a grand peice of machinary. I loved my EB, it had pacemakers, 3' exhaust system, low kingsprings, mags and above all the lovliest quartz paintjob.

The car originaly cost me $3600 with reg and roady. I was driving all the time, and enjoying learning more about my car. As you have already guessed, I only know the basics. I had my car for almost 3 months, when I let my mate take a short drive. Unfortunatly, he lost controll in the wet and we hit a poll. The car was a compleate write-off.

What made the accident even worse was the fact that my mate hadn't yet got his licence. So, as any good friend would, i took the wrap. I'll be loosing my licence for an undefined amount of time (I'm waiting on a letter from the cops).

My car is gone. It's memory lives on. My plans are to construct a sort of tribute car in its honour. What I was thinking of doing is, buying an EB - ED in excellent condition, and getting it sprayed jet black, XR8 headlights, lowered, big exhaust, mags, and a few other trimmings.

As I will be without a licence, I think the few months without a car I'll have would be perfect to undertake this project.

What do you guys reccomend? Any comments/ suggestions would be HIGHLY appreciated, as I am still learning.

I recommend not letting unlicensed friends drive ever again.

Dont bother with a car until your get your licence back.

Save your money, as the year (1 year?) goes on cars will get cheaper and your tastes may change.

Its not really a massive project from what you have said you want to do. I would wait it out and save your cash so you can do it all to the right car when the time comes.

Buy a bicycle for the short term.

start with the best car you can find, a good EB will be better than a rough ED....
that said, dont go for an EB1....EB2's are a far better starting point...

the less body work you need to do, the less $$$ will be spent..

Good luck with that. They are 14 years old now.

Just get something that has no dents, the rest is easily replaceable.

For 5-8K your gonna have to paint it yourself.

I have to be harsh but you desearve to loose your car for putting the keys into the hands of an unlicenced driver!

I'd doubt you will find a EB-D with 100,000 kls.
200,000 is ok as long as the car is original and maintained. Only but private and don't rush any sale. Once you have the $$$ then start to shop and look at as many cars as you can, it will get boring but stay enthused and you will find the right car.

Paint cost's between $3000 to $15000, depending on what you want. I normally go for 2pack but I spend more on the body then the paint. The best paint in the world will not make a rough body look good, but cheap paint makes a straight body look better.
