Default Daboss Is Back

Due to an unfortunate issue in breaking the right hand CV joint on my car I’ve as a result incurred some engine damage due to when the actual CV broke I was still on the gas engine must of entered free rev mode, So in turn that has broken part’s in the engine resulting in a rebuild not by choice, But in anger which now is all good.

To date what has been done is that I’ve had it honed , with new rings , Valve’s , Bearings , Crow Cam’s, High spec race springs, Vernier Gears.

4.11 diff gears, Hi stall.

I glad that Chris from Blue Power finally convinced me to install the 4.1 and the hi stall as these with all the other mods has turned my car from sometimes angry Beast to a beast of a car that’s always angry which suit’s me to a T.

I’ve just clocked over 2,000Kms on the new engine, hasn’t been tuned yet Vernier’s haven’t even been touched yet all set to 0. The torque of the engine is just incredible as were not chasing KW I’m after Torque and lots of it.

So once Chris gets back from holidays I’m hoping to get it tuned. Then I’ll post before and after’s.

Now with all these mod’s this car should be one quick GT.

Here are some pics from the rebuild.

Heard this car at idle, sounds tough, love the hi comp exhaust note, can't wait to hear it at full noise.

Good luck bud.

Looks good Rob, who re-built the engine?
your car is the 4th auto to brake CV, and the 1st V8 i have heard of.
Good luck, when do you get back to the track.

The engine was rebuilt by a few guys from FPV.

Once its tuned and run-in ( What ever that means ) I will return to the track set the record for N/A GT Sedan which at this current time is around 12.3 blue GT no wing ( Sounds like ordering at Red Rooster ).

Then perhaps run it with light weights and slicks and some weight taken out and take the Boss N/A record. which is 11.7 or there abouts. correct me if I'm wrong.

After that's done that's it retirement. :Reverend: And enjoy the car. :eclipsee_

Funny thing is that 3 years ago today I purchased my GT and the warrenty is gone, Now I can mod the car .........MMMMMMMMM already done that, might need to speak to chris maybe Blower is in need 6psi new vortech kit from CAPA like the PD blower. :ticking:

Yes 11.7 is the N/A boss record at the momment, it was also done with an unopened motor in a heavier ute :

I think the way Cams290 is heading he may get the N/A record fairly soon so you may be chasing him rather than me.

I'll just keep my unopened record when one of you guys break my N/A record :evil3:

Thanks but I think the unopened record will also fall this year, but the N/A will fall sooner

But just a correction on the weight issue

1825 Vs 1870 kg

As soon as you know who tunes it. / And once I'm happy with it. Power / torque wise.

Feels quick on the road. Bikes aren't a challenge anymore. out:

As Ricky Bobby would say from Talladega Nights " I WANNA GO FAST "

Sounds awsome, I am drooling as I am looking at some more mods but have to wait till next year as the house is going up now.
I am deciding what to do at the moment, whether to shove a blower on it or go the way you have just gone. I have never been on a drag strip as yet but driving in the city alot certainly calls for that torque down low. I enjoy my car mostly when I go on a long trip and get it at its best mid to top. Just interested to see your results and what effect or loss to the top you end up with.
In the mean time I will continue to sit on the fence and wait my time and gather all the information and make my choices.
Cant wait to see your beast unleash its wrath on the black top. Good luck
