Default Who else is waiting too long on a package to arrive?

Just wondering how many of you are experiencing the same thing? I bought some computer hardware from Melbourne just after Christmas and was meant to be sent by express post to Geelong. This usually takes one day. On this occasion however its been over a week and Auspost tracking is telling me the package is still stuck in Sunshine. You would think express post would get some sort of priority but doesn't look like!

Lots of Public Holidays and likely people on Annual Leave.

If needing it now you probably should have had to just get it in person from a shop.

Australia Post is very hit and miss.

They actually "lost" a set of microphones I ordered in November.

Probably eloped with my Superpro diff bushes - sent express post a month ago and last scanned in Sunshine. Where do all these lost parcels go - is there a large void under the sorting machine or is someone stealing them?

I can't understand how someone can send me a parcel for $6.95 express post and when I return it it costs me $15.15 via the cheapest method possible?

I was experiencing the same thing, checked on my mobile using tracking # and no movement.
Then today using a desktop computer checked and found the parcel was at my local post office awaiting pickup. Went there and picked it up
It appears that nothing was being updated on my mobile and so I thought it was still in Melbourne. On desktop computer it showed regular progress and locations

If something is being sent express post and sits for more than 24hrs day in a depot then you should be able to ring and query why it hasn't moved. Public hols and weekends excepted.

Simple, AusPost are doing massive promotion on express post...(must be making a profit in that section) I dont know if its still on.

Did you try express post yourself? If yes on what date? maybe the promo/special had finished.

Man that sucks! I ordered some ddr4 from the U.S on the 28th, shipped on the 29th and delivered this morning. And Auspost wonders why people get the ***** with them.

This has nothing at all to do with public holidays or any other outside influence. Auspost have deteriorated to a point where it's either sell it [ not that anyone will want it ] or shut it down.
I haven't been able to get small parcels delivered from Ipswich to Cairns in less than a week.
I can get stuff to and from my Chinese daughter in law in China in the same time frame.
The service at our local PO is the absolute worst of any business I've dealt with in the last 50 years.
There's no need for this 19th century style business in the modern era unless we're thinking of going back to the horse and buggy days.

Try living in Alice Springs. Last time I was there regular mail from Eastern States takes 2 weeks on average.

I'm still waiting for a letter that was posted there on Dec 16th.

Unfortunately for people waiting on parcels, a horse and buggy WOULD be quicker, for sure.

Ok for the sender but it can have it problems for recipients of delivery like any other courier system.

We sent a package from Narellan to Kings Langley, 30km away in the Syd metro area. Aus Post somehow managed to send it to Queensland.

We're not exactly dealing with the brains trust here....

Bought a part off a member on the forums in Brisbane, it was in Sydney the next day according to the tracking. It then sat in the depot for 3 days for no reason, ended up having to phone them to get it moving, then 2 days till I got a note in the mail to pick it up from my local post office.

Aus Post seems like its really turning to ****...

I work for an Express Freight Co (one of, if not the, largest in the world) and we can get stuff to our clients from the other side of the world quicker than aus post can get from Bne - Syd...

One of my biggest bug bears with clients (and I cop it from time to time) is people paying for an Economy Rate expecting the Priority Service.. Does my head in...

If you go by Game of Thrones then crow's are the ultimate delivery service

I must be lucky though, all my packages seem to arrive fairly quickly.

I ordered a new computer direct from China. It was quicker China to Melbourne, than it was Melbourne to Adelaide.
If the above post is correct, maybe the chinese crows are stronger? or are they ravens?

Australia Post is certainly hit and miss. Send local mail, often to only surrounding suburbs and some got delivered the following day while other took several days.

Now they have 3 levels of service to deal with. Express, priority and snail mail!

While I do get that things have dropped off with the use of email and fax for letters you would think they are making a killing from parcels with all the online buying and selling that we do.

Have a look here at the mess that is Aust Post's parcel delivery service.

Delays and missendings are par for the course:
