tested and proven to be a crock on mythbusters....

no, they dont work, nor do any of the other "fuel saving" devices....

as they said, you'd get a better economy change by adjusting your driving style

Correct me if i am wrong but is'nt that the famous Brock Polariser your talking about?

It caused Brock to get fired from the Holder dealer team at the time.
It was shortly after that when the Brock EA falcon came out.

Attach a few magnets to your ECU as well, see what that does.

I believe Brock's Energy Polarizer" was attached to the car to align the molecules to increase body stiffness etc, and improve performance / handling. I think a bit different to this fuel line thing, but correct me if I'm wrong.

youd create a giant permanent magnet if you polarised the molecule domains in the body, not sure what they hoped to achieve by doing that apart from interference :S

you can save fuel lots of ways, but there is always a trade off. buy a 2 litre car for example, ultimate down trade :P or mix fuel with ethanol or whatever, or use diesel or accellerate in such a fashion that you may as well have baught a 80HP car or use the bus or do a runner from the servo station. All of which sound equally painful to me.
