Default New NSW modified rego rules

Being relatively new here, I wasn't sure in which section to place this link, but anyway it's good news for those with modified cars in NSW.

Look here:- http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/about/news...tion-trial.pdf

it's good they've finally listened to the enthusiasts, although it's only a small concession.

Yeah that's massive! I will now think very seriously about putting may oldies on club rego as before it wasn't worth the hassle. Well done to all concerned!!

Great news. I will be switching the XB over to Club Reg when it comes up for renewal in a few months. The only thing will be to watch out for your Club's minimum number of attendances to qualify. Could be hard for me and some others who are rarely around for runs.

Looks like my Customline and Thunderbird will go onto club rego now.
I couldn't stand the hassle of getting permits when ever I wanted to just go for a drive.
60 days in more than double what I need so this is great

I've been on the current system for a few years, I welcome this new system but am curious to see the cost

Well I wouldn't go that far.
Baird has totally destroyed the transport system in Newcastle and refuses to listen to the people or even allow his local representative to discuss the matter with the public.

QLD clubs were asked to comment on this 18 months ago. The rules aren't changing for us up here, last time I heard. :(

Basically it costs too much to change the administration to make it happen.

I wonder if he's a classic car enthusiast?

Duncan Gay is. ( transport minister )

As to cost of administering any new rego system it really has to be cost neutral before governments will listen to any proposals. That is why the historic and street rod schemes are overseen by the clubs. Club personnel take care of the day to day stuff regarding log books and assessing the car's suitability for each scheme.

The NSW modified scheme is being set up the same way.

read the comments after this outburst after geelong received fedral funding.

Newcastle university is second largest employer in the region Lefties control public transport planning and don't like self assessment or public comment.you cant have self assessed modified cars on the road because that bypasses due process and some other latin words.
