Exactly my thought.. Seems odd when they talk about performance lacking over there, then you think about that new Cadillac V series http://www.cadillacunder5.com - though they are pretty damn ugly..

Oh Yanks love our utes... I showed them to workmates in the US and they loved them, and one of their wives said "oh I love your little truck!".

But yeah.. I was working in San Diego twelve months ago, and when i described the XR6 Turbo... 242ci, inline six cylinder, intercooled turbo charged 4 door. One of the guys owns a G35 (Twin Turbo Infiniti version of the Nissan 350Z) and he wanted one immediately.

I just don't understand why Ford/FPV don't export their cars.
There's obviously alot of interest in the cars in America but Ford are too stupid to do anything.

be interesting to see what FPVs image would turn into if they realised what we had to put up with!

Amazing... We say the grass is greener in the USA at times. Maybe we can swap a few F6's for some '05 Mustangs?

Heh. Damn Yanks. Love our stuff. Fancy calling our Tornado ute a Pickup? It's half the size.

BTW Fab, nice avatar. I don't like Greg Murphy.

Same reason why Honda and Nissan don't bring in big V8's in Australia. I like my Holdens and Fords, but when you really look at it, Honda for example produce much more powerful engines at a lower fuel consumption that both Ford and Holden. Considering honda have a 1.8L NA 4 cylinder producing 147kw, compared to my Ford which does 155kw on a 4L Inline 6, have a guess what a big V8 from Honda would have in it

All I'm saying, car manufacturers have there markets because thats what they target

Very interesting read and see the thoughts of the Americans about our tough Aussie cars.I think we can be proud of our Fords and Holdens they stack up pretty well against most cars in the world.
Cheers John

I had to laugh at this comment :

"Here are some Australian Ford killers" Competition yes, killers no.

Well the new LS2 HSVs do spank FPV's lineup atleast in a straight line so that could be regarded as a kill.

I don't know about being stupid. After all Ford have had blunders in the reverse way. eg. the Taurus, classic blunder....the Squire. Maybe they are just apprehensive as the U.S market is very Different from the Australian market

but it wasnt a good product.... a 2 door convertible laser...
i reckon that XR6T and GT's would take of in a HUGE way in the states.

they have virtually NO rear wheel drive large cars left....
