Also do a search on ebay, there is a company that sells these rims at a pretty good price.

Just noticed you are from Swan Hill, probably not much out there either.

EL GT tyre placard 245/40 R17
ring your local ford spare parts and ask them to order
part number GTTVE 1532 A
should cost about $10

Ok what you search for is "PRE+AU" on eBay and the Trading post.......

Click here for the "PRE+AU" in eBay:- eBay PRE+AU Search

Click here for "PRE+AU" in the Trading Post:- Trading Post PRE+AU Search

If you want the search just to search for sellers in VIC you will have to chose that option

wasnt 16in an option on EF's anyway, so your car should be legal with 18's.

Umm, people don't seem to understand.

The overall diameter isn't the problem for legality reasons.

It's the overall WIDTH of the rim. Anything more than 1" WIDER than the WIDEST wheel available for a certain model, means a no go.

EF's had a biggest wheel of 16x7 or 16x7.5? I can't remember how wide the sharktooth EF XR rims are. But anyway, you can go 1" wider than that. So the maximum width would be either 8" or 8.5" depending on what the sharktooth wheels were.

You can have 23" wheels, as long as the width is only 1" wider than the widest wheel available for your model.

EB owners and EL owners have a much greater choice, as the EB GT had 17x8.5, and the EL GT had 17x8.5. They can go upto 9.5" wide, which is pretty dang good.

It's true what yagz is saying, but unfortunately in the real world some cops still don't seem to know the rules regarding this and will pick on you anyway. Carrying a copy of the rules and regulations may help, just hopefully the cops around swan hill are a reasonable bunch that will admit when they are mistaken :/

I'd imagine if you did that they would go out of their way to defect you anyway.

Hmmm looking at the NCOP for suspension and tires now...

Im reading that it goes by tire width?

http://www.dotars.gov.au/transport/s...g_3Feb2006.pdf
Page 17

Apparently it goes by the manufacters widest optional tyre width (say 225),
Then multiply it by 1.3 (30% increase is max..) to get 292.5mm..

Then the largest tire that'll fit in that margin is 285mm..

THen it has a table giving the largest rim that you can fit it to in 2 aspect categories.. 65-85 max width of rim is 10".. .. 60 and below is 11"

mmm 11" wide rims haha

Going on that information...

if my car as factory had 225/50r16 (unsure) i could increase the width to 11" and by using the 15mm over thing and if i owned a tire factory and rim factory

I could make some 20"x11" rims and make some 285/16zr20 tires and BAM. (might need to "wide body" it..)

Also I read that the track cant be increased by any more than 25mm, which means offset can only be increased by 12.5mm. which gives e-series offset of 35+12.5?

so rims would be 20"x11" 114.3PCD +42.5mm offset?
