Default People Attitudes Towards cars !

I just have a bf xr6 once a fortnight i spend 2 hours washing the car ! and maybe once a week depending !

Any way one of my friends is a gt owner we were having a convosation about washing cars he asked me how long i spend washing my car i said 2 hours Then hes said " That is crazy" then i asked him how long it takes him to wash his gt he said " 2 hours" and i said why do you think it is crazy for me to take 2 hours and it is ok for you to take two hours Then he said oh oh " mine is a gt and yours is just a xr6. I am so put off ! we should be proud of the cars we buy and we should treat them right no mater what sort of cars it is ! I am Proud of my xr6 !! just like when you go to a car show A gt will aways bet a Xr6 or Xr8 AT a show same with a Xr6 turbo Will always win over the Xr6 N/A !! this world is to bias ! people should learn no matter What you have you have people should have respect !! Sorry there tends to be none of that now ! this is Why people do not care with these attitudes !

I can not afford to drive any thing else but a xr6 ! so why bag it because i spend two hours washing it !! This is what i think any way !

Ask yourself, Why does it upset you so much? It's someone else's opinion, you bought the car because YOU liked it, you didn't buy it for someone else, it's your pride and joy, if that wasn't your answer then maybe you bought it to impress others and if that's the case your always going to take offense to what someone says about it.

1) Don't get upset about it.

2) Your 'friend' is a douche.

I know what you mean mate, no offence but your GT mate sounds like a bit of a wang. Be proud of your car it looks great and I can tell by your pic the pride you have for it, don't be discoruaged because the rims arent 24ct gold and it hasn't got $100g under the hood. I have a mate who owns a mid 90's hilux-white, steel tray, basic as it gets, but he loves it. It's always spotless and you can always see your face in his chrome rims.

Exactly.

Hell I own an AU2 Forte with a bodykit and have been known to spend 2-3 hours cleaning it both inside and out, making it as immaculate as I can.

Just because its all I can afford and all I've got, so why not keep it neat and tidy.

Plus, there's nothing like that feeling of taking it for the first run when you've just spent a lot of time cleaning it and getting it all shiny & nice!!!

Spend as long as you want cleaning your car, its YOUR car, YOU are entitled to clean it for as long as YOU want. Whether it be a beat up old bomb or a brand new Maybach!

100% agree, the time spent cleaning clearly shows how much you respect your car, me and the wife spend a couple of hours a fortnight cleaning both cars.

318 no longer exists and base price on a 320 is $54k, $10k more than a Mondeo so what exactly is the point? Just because someone buys a BMW for more than the equivalent sized Ford does not mean they are doing it to impress others.

I agree completely with the point of the thread. It is about respecting what you have. I used to spend just as long cleaning my 2nd hand ED GLi as I did my BA XR8, which is the same again as my BA GT and BF SP. There is no scale on what the cars were worth, they were all mine and I looked after them all the same, same amount of time with the same quality of products used. That is the way it should be and it seems your friend needs to learn that.

Not about to make many here either :

In my view, anyone who claims they have some form of higher social standing because they drive a better car probably has some form of inferiority complex for which they are compensating for.

Some people are just like that mate...Wouldn't let it worry you.

I get it all the time..I spend a good 3-4 hours cleaning my car inside out. And get called crazy for it...

I love my car, simple as that.

I wish some people would hold any car with the same respect as yourself.

I had a drunken mate throw red dirt and crap over my car one night as a prank.
