Am looking at buying a FG 2010 XR6 50th anniversary in light blue, think it is called nitro, can anyone tell me if they think it is a good investment as
it is $17,000 and has done 119,000 k's. Looking at it tomorrow so am not sure as yet if it as good as it looked online with the dealer photos but it did look in excellent order. Would anyone think that long term it will retain good value as a limited edition or be a wasted spend.? Be good to hear from anyone tonight. Thank you all. PS selling my Focus in cars for sale section if anyone interested. Am willing to haggle price. |

My opinion, Nitro is the best FG colour. The 50th anniversary models are real nice too. As for being a good investment, no car is.

I have one exactly the same. Nitro is the colour. Has done 22,000k's. Faultless apart from a power steering pump and one of the 50th guard badges paint peeling.
Fantastic car. Dont think theres much value in the limited edition part though. Sent from my GT-N8020 using Tapatalk

Did not buy. Brakes were hard, acceleration was flat, dents all around. Not well
looked after at all unfortunately so have passed. Cars being the price they are I do not understand why people do not take a bit more care. Maybe more money than brains with some people. 50th model should be a collector car, not a thrasher. |

Yes seems the way. Sorry to say I am looking now at a 2006 Calais.
One owner $13,000. Or a 2011 SV6 $18,000. Yes I know Holden. Will depend on if I am happy with the drive on the test run tomorrow. Will post reply tomorrow night. Only other option I am looking at is a near new 2011 low k's Mondeo 2.01 turbo ecoboost. Look good on paper and near same size car but less fuel per 100 k's. |

Passed on Holden. Have you ever opened and closed the doors on these.
They are like second grade doors that rattle like tin when you shut them. Not a solid thud when closed. Felt cheap. Engine before series 2 is noisy. Series 2 engine big improvement but car just feels cheap. Picking up a EL Futura in a few days as a fill in. In excellent 2 owner condition. Will keep looking at replacement for Focus when I sell it. |
