Default Tell your scary stories

I've been reading on some other forums, and one particular 4x4 forum has this great thread where everyone tell's stories that's happened so I was thinking that there should be a thread on here just like it.
I guess I'll start...

One night a couple of years ago on some property near Goulburn, I was playing around with a car and I see some eyes in some trees about 20m away. I thought it was a sheep so I threw the apple core I was eating at it thinking that it would run away, but the eyes disappeared for a sec then came back. Didn't think anything about it until the next day when everyone in town was talking about their horses and pets running around like crazy and being really scared, then some guy says he saw this massive black animal or cat sprint across a field.

If anyone has heard of the big black cats around NSW (and the random sheep corpses up high in tree's) then you'll realise how I felt but if you don't know of any stories of them then hopefully someone could share some!

One night my mate was down at Pinkenba (think industrial area near a port with lots of scrub / bush) driving along in his N13 Pulsar with the boys... yes... these were the days where just HAVING a car was cool.

Anyhow, around 10pm at night they are driving along at 60Km/h (important) when a black creature that would have stood up as high as the windows explodes out of the scrub near the road and starts chasing the car!

Yellow eyes begin to gain on them rapidly and it actually catches up to the car! So with a lead right foot he begins taking off,... 60,....70,...80 and finally starts to pull away!

The creature quickly ceases the chase and darts back into the scrub...

At first I called BS, BIG TIME, but then I spoke to his brother who was also in the car and he was adamant this "thing" had chased them and was stupidly fast!

I also once accidently missed my stop and got off at Caboolture train station late at night... there was a man on the phone rubbing his nipples, dogs barking in the background and a siren trailing off into the distance... the most terrifying 10 minutes of my life.

Mate same thing happened to me on a hunting trip. I saw something in the bushes just looking at us, heard a rustle and then a few branches breaking. We got out of there quick smart..

Backpacking trip through Europe.

Wifey and I decided to walk from Southside Paris to Montemarte in North Paris.
Decided to take what looked like a short cut on the map.
Wandered through what would be best descibed as an African ghetto area.
Followed by a group a four males. We were zigging and zagging, so I know they were following us. Thinking that I'm about to be robbed/killed and the wife raped, etc.

Luckily a couple of gendarmes were driving around and we approached them and they escorted us back to the main street. AFAIK we dodged a bullet that day.

aside form that the scaryest thing with me was catching a train from Prague to Franfurt, our train was rerouted becasue of flooding, so our 1st class seat became just a seat, the first porblem was being detained becasue we didnt have a visa for some little eastern block country these gaurds had big guns and didnt speak english and didnt care the train was rerouted, after that I fell asleap and woke up some time later with a gypsy lady asleep in my lap, I think that was scaryer than the gaurds

I've got one for you.

I was in college, so a naive 17 year old. My best friend at the time, spent one warm lunchtime talking about this "Really hot chick" he had met, and how awesome she was, and how much he was in love with her (Yes, that kind of dude, the one that is in love as soon as a girl says Hello to him).

Anyways, moving on... On the way to I.T class, he said "Oh, there she is!" Over walked a rather attractive young , well developed girl, He introduced us.

10 years later, We are married and have an 8 month old Son..... :O The horror!

Don't guess this fits but why not. When I was a kid I watched every horror movie I could get my hands on. Vampires , murder stuff. I didn't care. I was pretty young about 10 or 11. I heaps older and heaps tougher now btw. .had me some pretty nasty nightmares, convinced a vampire was after me, my old man told me to leave the window open with a red apple on the window sill of my room. If the apple has a bite taken out of it in the morning, that's a definate sign one is after you. I still havent forgiven my dad for takin a bite of it sometime thru the night ...

So growing up, my family had a property out bush with an old Queenslander on stumps (still do). When I was about 16, I was up there alone for a weekend. A mate came over and we had a few bourbons and watched The Howling. Terrified. My mate left after we watched the movie. I locked up, darted in to my bedroom and lay very still, hoping not to get eaten by a werewolf.

About 15 minutes later, I hear something moving outside the window. Then scraping on the floorboards under the house. I'm too scared to move, and this scraping moves away from the bedroom towards the front steps. Hear the front steps creaking.

Being 16 and ****ed and hysterical, I've basically resigned myself to the fact that I'm about to be torn apart by a monster, so I get out of bed and run towards the front door to tackle it head-on.

Needless to say, the werewolf on the other side of the front door was giggling by the time I'd got to it. He'd driven round the corner, grabbed a screwdriver out of his truck and walked across back the paddock to screw with me.

He will never be forgiven for this.

Used to wotk as an orderlie at hospital in NZ

We had a whimpie wet behind the ears guy come in for holiday work from uni.. One night it was his 'bonus' time nite, meaning anyone died during the nite he was paid a bonus for moving them from ward ...... (you know where this is going dont ya ) down to morgue room.this was in basement of hospital. He did a great job doing down but comming back up the lift doors got stuck on one floor when they finally opened for him all floor lights were out apart from the lift and standing there was a ghost. Dopyest one Ive ever seen , was wearing black hospital sneakers, glasses and large white sheet.
God some people are fu**ed from the day they are born.

Being under a house with about 300mm clearance between the ground and the floor bearers, and getting stuck halfway between a foundation wall was not fun. What made it worse was the hose behind me with the 400L of chemical in it building up more and more pressure in it because it couldn't be let out until I managed to get free.

Long day that one.

i lived out in the country on 10 acres for part of my young life in a very old weather board , the place was a hive of bugs and spiders, it had the regulation dunny with a can and no light 50 metres away from the house, if you had to make a trip out there of a night, you would take a torch and shine it around the paddock as well as the path, you would also see a mass of reflecting eyes out on the perimeter of the fence line but would see no animals(it was a potato farm),
i remember hopping up out of bed one freezing cold morning(no heat till you went out and chopped some wood), put my feet into my gum boots and stood up felt something odd under my left foot, i give the boot a bit of a belt on the floor boards and to my horror a very large hairy spider( i mean large) ran under my bed , after getting some composure and clean pair of white fronts and armed with the broom i had a look for the hitch hiker, ..........i never found the blighter, it was not much fun sleeping after that for some time.
(note to self , i really don`t like spiders).

While doing van tour in Europe we were in San Seb, Spain. We had been out boozing while watching the World Cup semi finals and got back to our van and partied on with some fellow Aussies. Woke up to a Spanish cop pointing and yelling, I'm blind and confused and speak zero Spanish and they spoke zero Australian.

Turns out someone had robbed us as we were drunk enough to leave the doors open in out Transit due to the heat and the geezer had pinched my undies and my Cold Chisel shirt. Anyway, got taken to station for a few hours saying we had to go to court, they then let us go but we had no idea where we were in relation to our van. Went back in got a lift to the van but on the way got involved in a high speed chase, until the two officers started getting really panicked, hand braked to a stop kicked us out and yelled something. 2 hours later they picked us back up and gave our passports back. Ill happily never have that experience again, and 2 days earlier I ran with the Bulls and it wasn't as scary as this was.

That's strange, a few train drivers I know swear they have seen a large black panther like creature near Bylong, NSW.

One morning about 330am we were driving a train near Wollar, NSW. Approaching a crossing we see a medium sized, dark animal come running flat out from the left hand side. It slammed into the side of our train making a decent thud.
It was running way too quick to be a kangaroo or wombat. Going back the next day during day light, we didn't see any animal corpse laying around.
Not really scary, but strange and fits in with the big black cat stories.

Yea I looked some stuff up on google and there's been heaps of sightings of something like that, most of them are around the blue mountains so your story fits in very well. But for all I know know the eyes I saw looking at me just could have been a sheep!

When I was 11 I had a pretty good scare... I could swim like a rock, a couple of my friends decided to teach me how by pushing me off the Port Pirie wharf was about a 20' drop into the murky green... after a few seconds they realised it wasnt a very good idea.
Luckily there was a bloke just up the wharf fishing with his son, he had seen what happened dived in and pulled me out just in time to resuscitate me.
To this day I still gasp/tense up if I put my head under cold water and yes I can swim now!(even take me kayak out on the waves)

Dont say that I go over through Wollar and Bylong a fair bit. There have been a few sightings in the area like a panther at windamere dam just out of Rylstone and a few at Lithgow including video footage. Pretty freaky stuff especially pulling up for a leak on the side of the road at night going down through the dirt roads between Merriwa, Wollar and Bylong.

PS theres also a fair few pigs in the area.

Nearly every report says the same thing. During the war the yanks had mascots and let them out here.

when I lived in a share house with mates one of then chucked a firecracker under the bathroom door while I was washing my hair in the shower.

had my eyes shut to keep the shampoo out and then there was a massive explosion, the room was full of smoke and the smell of gunpowder and I didn't know what the **** had happened

I honestly thought my flatmate had capped himself until I worked out what had happened

My mates still think it's **** funny that's what I thought it was
