Default Enough is Enough???

Well..I have reached a stage where the cam has come to life with the chip and power seems to be there on command. But!!! I am getting used to it.

I really enjoy it and it goes well but I am being tempted to just do the stall converter !! Am I mad? Should I listen to JonBays's advice below?

Hahah..guys I have a really good auto trans place to do it for me.

Casper ...as you well know by now I live for the red light getaway..when I press the accelerator and the car goes solidly forward and my guts feel like they are going into my spine..as I see it just pulling away from all the other cars I feel free ..they can have their rwkws and dyno sheets ..hahahh..

When my wife gives me permission I may give the 1/4 a go. :Up_to_som

i went for a ride in brendans car friday with my bro, we are fairly big dudes and it surprised me how easy it would break traction off the mark with his single wheeler, you might want a LSD if you dont have one, might be fun either way

Ok, I've done some research and realised what you're talking about! A stall converter is the same thing as a torque converter!! e

For the benefit of xr6007 (and anyone too proud to admin they don't know what it is :P), basically instead of using a clutch (i.e. friction) to transfer power from the engine to the transmission, oil flow is used instead.

Dude, wait til the next V8 owners track day comes up and rock up with me and some of the other forum guys. Its a good no stress day and you can have stacks of fun.

Going on a wednesday night meet may be a bit daunting plus you wait too long between runs as well.

Nope. Nothing new changed on the car since last November so no reason to go.

Probably go sometime late August, early Sept though.

Well I am pleased to say that in the context of that comment these cars have been the rapees on the street. The final mod of the chip has worked and rounded the engine mods off nicely

Sorry mate but I cant see your car beating mine and any decent Gen3 is going to leave mine behind after about 70kph. Over a 1/4 mile they are an easy second or even 2 ahead.

Not too often you can do a 1/4 mile run from the lights on the street though Casper... I think useless is talking about up to 70-80km/h.

PS I am in a similar situation... Do I leave the ute as is or go for a few mods? I have decided though, I will leave it as the benefits do not outweigh the costs.
