Default You've got to be Joking!

I understand that XW/XY GT's are worth a bit of dough these days, and even good replica's are fetching a good price but does that mean any tom, dick or harry can ask outrageous prices for any early ford with a V8! I guess you can ask whatever you like when you sell a car but where is the point when it becomes rediculous! :togo:

Heres my example!

Thumbs down Joking ??????

I wonder if he maybe added the cost of shipping via the west coast to the east coast. Not even original 72 as in all original fittment, ie interior, and the such...I think he will still have it in 10 yrs when it may well bring that sort of money . Maybe the boot comes full of apple cider.....

People are taking notice at how HOs and XU1s are actually work a fair dime nowadays. The problem is some don't realise that these values are due to extreme scarcity.

Maybe they'll get the picture when even at 20k, there will not be a bid. Or even 10k at that.

But hey, if he wants that much, good luck to him.

Oh my lord, and the reserve isn't even met at 45k! If it was an immaculate example you could kind of understand the owner's delusions, but what a hacked bitza POS!

I understand it takes 2 too tango, you can ask $20,000.00 for an ashtray but it takes someone to pay that amount of money for it and it looks like someone out there is doing just that.Either these cars are a good investment or a lot of people have a lot of money, whichever way you look at it these people are buying a FORD product over and over again, something that at the moment Holden is not able to replicate.

it's probably not worth that much (ok it's not) but the fact people are basing the price of their cars on GT's and when the GT's go up in value, so does everything else.
Down side is, idiots with bitsa cars that "they" like and think everyone else likes em cause their friends say "oh thats cool", think they can ask for a bucket load of money when it's only worth about half that.
In this case, it's not even worth half but i'm sure you understand.

I think he might be pushing it just a bit.............

Just sold a XW fairmont with a factory 302 windsor and running gear,in bloody good nik for its age, had minor rust, paint was near perfect and the original interior was basically immaculate and i struggled to get 10 grand for it.

I wonder if this is the same ****** that was selling the XC 351 wagon a few months ago for $40 grand.
He got heaps in the "contact seller" bit. Tons of people having a go but he stuck to his story and reckoned it was worth it.
Yeah right.
