Three times in the last week I have been at a service station for petrol twice & air and each time, a person has come in through the exit and reversed into the front pump spot, whilst the person they have just blocked in was finishing up and in two cases, there were people cued behind, waiting. Now, some people I have known in my life would probably have taken this further. Just curious what the general slant on this one is.

Went through this very recently & yep i wasn't impressed too RC.
I aired my sharp disatisfaction to the selfish young driver who pushed in & he sheepishly/smartly knew to keep his trap shut lol! cheers, Maka

You should've said something to them. I have no patience at all for "people" like that and I am more than happy to let them know about it when they cross my path.
Watching them slink away is always good. |

The ones who are worse are the idiots who press the button, with no intention of waiting. They continue to cross on the red, leaving you stuck at a red arrow with no pedestrians in sight....

Hopefully the station operator has seen this and won't clear the pump. I'd make the ***** wait their turn just like everyone else.
And is it illegal to violate service station no entry signs? |

No more annoying than these d*&$$ heads who come boring up on merging lanes and try to force their way in,even though they have dotted white lines to let them know they have to give way.

Had a similar thing many yrs ago ..... Honda civic boxed me in & it was no parking in front of me where it was, so gently pressed the ZC bumper against it & pushed it forward 6 ft..... plenty of on-lookers, but no repercussions.

C'mon, they're in a hurry to get to Centrelink so they can get cashed up and then buy ciggies and DVD's and lay on the couch all day.

I do use a couple of servos on corner blocks, so it depends which street you enter from as to which driveway you use. |

if you ever drive an lpg car you will find that if servo's still actually have lpg they have 1 pump and some looser will park in front of it and go take a dump and buy chocolate milk and come back 10 mins later all while all the falcons are lining up behind it....you get used to it! country or freeway servos are the worst for it

I hate morons in carparks, that think you have all the time in the world to wait while they decide where to park. I was following one up a multi-storey carpark, he drives past an empty spot and onto the next up-ramp, then halfway up decides he does want that spot, stops, and attempts to reverse with me behind. He stops, starts gesticulating at the empty spot, so I turn off the engine, take the keys out and wave them out the window and yell 'I've got all day'
But the biggest tools must surely be the ones that cant be bothered queing in a turning lane, and instead drive into the adjacent straight-ahead lane, then stop and put on their indicator and block all the traffic behind them. I wonder if it's possible to road-register a forklift... lift those idiots out of the way..... |

I just dont queue at servos. Around here anyway, theres a million options, and Ive never let the DTE get below 60km. The only places Ive ever seen queues where a situation like this would occur is the woolworths or similar ones when its the 4c a litre off or some other crap. So people wait, idling, for 15 minutes or more to save a dollar or two.
If theres an empty pump but its on the wrong side for me, and theres people waiting, of course I go around them all, turn around and use the empty pump. Dont know if thats the same as this or not. |

While we're on the subject of servo queues, one thing that infuriates me are people that congregate at the entrance while taking their time deciding which queue to join. Just pick one and move on. If it happens to be slower, tough.

I've den it myself
There was no one lined up though (aside from me) and old mate thought he could block the pump while he **** ****d around cleaning windows checking oil scratching his **** So I blocked him in, if he had have pulled to the air/ water he could have still done his stuff and the servo would have flowed

There's a big APCO servo in Wangaratta that has signs everywhere to encourages motorists after filling, move to the carpark and pay for your fuel to keep the pumps clear.
99% of the time it works until some clown from out of town decides to leave the car at the pump after filling and buy some snacks. Had some woman with hers kids barge in front of everyone just yesterday when I made the mistake to fill up in Wagga.

Most of the Shell servos I use seem to have enough room to pass these jumpers but occasionally use get someone who parks 3 meters from the pump & blocks two rows!

I encounter a lot of people on expressways who travel behind me (I'm often driving a bus), and then 100m from the next exit, decide they need to pull out and overtake me, to cross back over in front of me, to get to the exit ramp. What is the point of that? If they'd stayed where they were, they could have taken the exit anyway...that move maybe saved all of a second or two....I don't get it.

At my local servo, there's parking at the front of the shop, but it's not under cover. So clowns park at the pumps in the shade, and it seems like they do their weekly shopping. The lone LPG pump is on the front of the row closest to the shop door, so it's always blocked by people who generally aren't even getting fuel (it's the only bower beside them, and you can clearly tell when it's not an LPG car). Most times I have to wait for them to move so I can get to the pump. Occasionally I'll reverse up real close to them, and pull the hose past, and just be able to reach my car. I've also gome over the boot of one idiot who I waited 10 minutes for, and was a no-show. One particular morning I gave up waiting one morning when the woman in front of me decided her smoke was more important than moving her tarago. It was totally blocking the pump, so my usual work-around methods were no good this time. I drove around in front of her and parked perpendicular. It was the slowest bloody fill of gas - not on purpose, just a slow pump. She finished the smoke when I was about 30L in, then proceeded to honk at me. I pointed to the bowser and at my car, but she still didn't get it. That's when I worked out she couldn't reverse. There was nothing behind her but clear driveway. I pointed that out and got a barrage of abuse for it. So I decided to wash the screen & fill up the washers after paying for the gas. Quote:
Started pumping, and he's carrying on, revving the truck inching up close to the rear bumper of the car, all the while, there's a diesel pump in the next row, and no other cars in sight. When I finished, I had to get the fuel card to pay, and told the rep not to move until I got back. Walking back I stood beside the other diesel pump & yelled out "hey, this one's diesel, why don't you use it?" Boy was his face red. Wasted 10 minutes harassing me, when he only had to go down the other lane.... |
