Default South Coast cruise - August 31

With the cold weather hanging around for a little bit longer, what better place to escape to than the beautiful South Coast. We're looking to cruise down on Sunday August 31.

Meeting at the Shell EPIC servo at 8.00am for an 8.30am departure. Cruising to Batemans Bay via Bungendore and Braidwood, and once down there continuing on to Mogo. We should arrive at Mogo at around 10.45, where we'll have a stop to browse some of the shops and have a coffee. We then drive to Moruya where we jump on the coast road and cruise back up to Batemans Bay. Here we stop for lunch before heading back to Canberra. Should be back in Canberra by about 4.00pm.

Overall, some nice driving roads combined with some beautiful scenery.

Put your name on the list if you'd like to attend:

1) Richard and Nicole
2)
3)
4)
5)

U realise the South Coast Nationals are on in Moruya that weekend.
The club might want to make a showing at this not bad little event.
I'll be there.

I think they charge a small fortune to enter your car, but the point of this cruise now is to swing by the Nationals and check out the cars. This cruise was previously on the 24th.

I spoke to the organiser months ago about club entry and it was peanuts really, can't remember the amount but something like $10-$15 per day but that was at the beginning of the year.
Anyway, if my car is ready - its entered otherwise I'll be a spectator - hope it doesn't rain as 2 years ago the entry point was a bit ordinary.

It may be more to enter this late, ala Summernats, or we may have got it wrong. Good luck to entering your car. Should be a good day but for me no go. Pris' birthday and she has other plans for herself.

Normally $90 for being this late, but I've been convinced for only $65

I'll ask if I can get in some extras.

Don't worry about getting wet, Ford is pretty good these days at wet-proofing their vehicles!

Lol... it's not that... i've learnt a very serious lesson in the FG, she fishtails way easy in the wet, I'm thinking it's because the turbo kicks in so early

It's probably going to be the slowest trip to the coast for a long time.

What a great cruise.... Weather was a bit iffy until we hit Braidwood then it was like I was bending over.... Sun shine everywhere...
We had a great run down the mountian ... the only thing to be carefull of was a road kill kangaroo taking up the left hand lane just over a crest. with skilled drivers at the wheels we got through no problems...
A good run to Moruya, car show was a bit disapointing not a real lot of Blue ovals cars on show... to many red cars with P plates...
Awsome trip up the mountian.... untill we hit heavy rain at Braidwood ... all home safely..

Glenn

It was heavily Holden biased show. Ignore anything with a P plate on it, and there were plenty of really nice cars of various makes and models.

However, I did the blue oval proud, taking out 'Best Sound Quality Overall' I knew I was in with a chance for a class win/runner up, but to take out the event was a nice surprise.

Award

Saturday morning before a thousand layers of dust has settled.

Good to see everyone. I got your message a 'bit' late Glenn, phone coverage was spotty at best down there. Weather held off until just before the award presentations, and the skies opened all the way home. So the car is now a muddy mess. :
