Default Kenne Bell kit Coyote 5.0

As many people on this forum will be aware, the awesome 5.0 coyote is due for release soon in the Australian Falcon.

At this stage is that there will be 2 versions, a naturally aspirated 5.0, and a non intercooled 5.0 availible in the GT.

The great news for the NA platform buyers is that Kenne Bell are currently putting their final touches on the coyote kit, which looks like it will carry across to the Aus model nicely. So, to have the toughest coyote on the block, the entry level coyote equipped cars will be able to outmuscle their GT cousins Kenne Bell style.

The exact numbers are a closely guarded secret, but Kenne Bell staff are quietly excited at this stage.

Interested where you have seen information that there is a N/A version in fords line up! I'm under the impression with all the speculation that the whole V8 range is supercharged! I hope not because I would rather drop a bigger S/C on it that the factory harrop version!

It's just the impression im under with what i have read! i hope you's are right, there would be nothing sweeter than a G8E with a big KB/whipple on it!

Not to bring this thread away from BP, but pretty much everyone else is on the same opinion as Cheese up until a few days ago, and even then there is very little info to say that its 100%

pretty obvious that a kb2.6 equipped coyote will be superior to what ever valley mounted Whipple they (ford) have chosen.

Most of every other person that gets talkin about the "new" 302(5lt) motor are a talkin bout the FPV GT/GTP/GT-E. Ford never really sat down and said that thier take on the V8 was to be dropped. Before the new V8 though it was a serious thought for ford Aus. again.

Yes.......True if they were bought out with a whipple, but they (Ford) have chosen the roots 'eaton' instead.
And the KB2.6 would not even get a mention anyway, that's because there is no 5.0l Coyote with a KB2.6 on it.......... you getting my drift??????

Seeing as the XR8 was to be an FPV but is now called the GS. The statement of all V8's were gonna be s/c was true at one point. But it has been changed. So now its all FPV V8's will be s/c.

I thought N/A Coyote, aka XR8 was coming out next year. And this was on top of S/C GS and GT

Wont the problem of an N/A XR8 be that it will be too high compression to bolt on a charger?

GS was to be the XR8, but this changed. Seems Ford worked out that the V8 is still lucrative. Even the GS tune was labelled XR8.

apparently the N/A motor was build with S/C in mind. wont know till the motors are closer to coming out as to wether the compression is different between the to states of aspiration

It will be interesting to see whether the FPV motors can have the aftermarket superchargers fitted easily enough. It will probably render the whole factory kit useless, leaving you with the only benefit of having a factory supercharged motor in the donor car being the low comp engine.

Which for the price difference you would expect between the XR8 & GS would make one think about just getting their XR8 5.0L rebuilt with low comp Pistons & Stronger Rods..

Unless you "had" to have a "FPV".

With the use of good tuning of the VVT system, FI can be applied even with 11:1 satic ratio and modest boost. This is what the guys are finding right now over in the states.

Will need more time to really see how durable they will be though, but, food for thought, with IVC at 0 degrees you have 11:1, with IVC at 50 degrees you have ~9.5:1 (pretty much where FPV's static CR is with F/I).

Now this is only looking at one aspect of the tune, it's very simplistic and is not accounting for the consequences of also having the intake valve OPEN later (since duration is fixed)... but it's something to think about and probably something that can help with achieving higher static CR in conjuction with FI.

With the expected rollout of service stations providing E85 (11 in Vic by end of this year, there is 1 now in Hoppers), im sure it will be the fuel of choice for making big power whilst retaining the high comp.
