I'd love to see it, but I can't run the YouTube video atm due to my location. Can someone do some screen grabs?

Not necessarily. It's confusing.
* Pan to Cluster at 1:46, and it's a LOW series cluster. Meant for non DZ. * ICC has TRAC on it, which is normally only on high series cluster. * One of the other Pans shows what looks like the Traction button on the dash to the left of the wheel column. Again, non DZ low series. So who really knows. Looks like it's DZ software in a non DZ car to me. So no sunlight sensor, no outside temp sensor, and no visible inside temp sensor (usually behind 3 holes in the face of the DZ ICC) - so my guess is that this is a SZ car and the climate control isn't automatic. Since the Audio buttons on the wheel are wired to the ICC (ie there's no CAN message for wheel volume/seek buttons), then I'm betting there's one of these behind the scenes converting the Wheel Buttons to something the 2DIN module can understand:

looks interesting, might be something to look into since I was planning a custom double din setup in my BA eventually anyway, could be a lot cheaper and easier

Hanging for someone to make one for FG. FG sound systems and head units are terrible, worse than BA. KMart boom boxes have better sound quality than my FG2 with premium sound . The only worse car sound system I have heard is Hyundai i20.

Surprised that this thread hasn't garnered more interest. Very interesting, glad to see someone finally cracked the ICC issue.
I wonder what the final price is? I imagine some parts from your existing ICC would be taken out and used as a donor for the new system. |

I still don't understand what's been done. The video looked like a tablet and new facia on the ICC with how it sat out, but then the link to the actual product shows a typical 2DIN unit. There's no room there to just slot it in though.

This has sparked my interest.
If its legitimate and functional as per the vid , this is the next mod for the GT.

I have the basic ICC and the single CD player has given up.
This would be like having a new car in comparison. When will they release more info?

Finally got the VPN to allow me to view the video. It look like a great idea.
Aesthetically, I really dont like the fact that the screen is not mounted recessed or at least semi flush to the ICC cover. The fact that the top of the screen (tablet) just juts out looks cheap and will be a great place to collect dust. Functionality, I am a little concerned that there are a lack of quick press buttons for things like, Rear demist, Air con pathways adjustment, quick unlock, etc. Last thing I would want to do is be driving and the temp changes quickly while I am in Torque or something and have to go back to find the front and rear window defrost functions. It would also be nice if there was still the option to use the CD player... yes some of us still use this thing.

I have seen this video and the other 2 videos but I’m not sure how they are getting the a/c info on the screen – I notice that in the earlier videos they are using a vw spec aftermarket head unit and a lot of vw aftermarket head units have some sort of canbus controller to display hvac settings and door open info.
I did find this on aliexpress that looks very similar to the final version they are using http://www.aliexpress.com/item/8-108...86815475.html? I have been working on a similar project that uses a arduino and a canbus shield That monitors the canbus for the hvac signals and is able able to send out codes to simulate each button press and the same can bus signals that the icc sent so the car can still start. The roadblock I have been working on lately is finding the pid’s for the hvac system as that would be easier to transfer over Bluetooth to the android app but it is very hard to find any of the mode 22 pids that ford use. Currently I am sending over all canbus traffic in order to filter it out but it makes it very laggy to run. Would love to know how they are getting it to work

Pricing from one store is about $1350 for this install for any of you who are following.
Judging by the looks of a tablet it doesn't seem to be top quality especially with the screen bleed. Biggest thing would be how it reproduces sound, this could make or break the product for a lot of people(myself included). In saying that I am not a fan of the install for the same reason as above, it seems like its just plonked on the front without any attempt to fit it in a recess or something similar. All in all its one of the best installs I have seen thus far and might give each user a level of optimization for how things will be displayed, ie quick buttons for radio,a/c,maps etc etc.

Yep like it a lot, you just have to get used to not having any physical dials/buttons for the temp, defrost, etc, its all in the Climate app. Press the 'HVAC' button -> climate settings. It doesn't take long The reversing camera is going in this week as well. I was originally thinking about getting a Premium ICC and reversing camera setup, then came across this one custom one in my searches. Its running KitKat 4.4.4 so been giving internet radio (TuneIn) a good run I got it installed professionally. Left the ute with them for the day. Sorry to dig up an old thread but I am looking at getting one of these but I’m just curious about the sound, what’s it like? Does it go reasonably loud and is it good sound?

HI
I received my version2 of the overline ICC and the touch screen started to lift after 8weeks. But the most concerning thing is that and there is something not right when using the key remotes to lock and unlock the doors. After turning off the ignition and leaving the car the remote will intermittently work locking and unlocking the doors (have to hold the remote over the center of the windscreen to get it to work). Once the Battery Saver signal goes off, the remote operation returns to normal and the range of the remote is the same as it was on the original ICC. i put the original icc back in, and remotes work fine, put the Overline icc back in and problem returns(the remotes are factory originals, and are fine), has anyone else had this issue? cheers Trev |
