Lets see your intake mods guys...
I did mine last week.. costing a grand total of $37! Very happy with the result - its 'bang for buck'. Great sound to it, and better torque at higher speeds. Not the most aesthetically pleasing setup, but its never going to be a show car!

Mine was exactly the same as yours Pully 6, what with the piping coming up through the wheel arch bit xcept on the top mine was all stock, I drilled a hole in the airbox and had the 10mm pipe go from brakeduct through and into the box that was fitted with a BMC panel Filter.
The naked eye couldn't tell that it had been tampered with. Till you opened the airbox and ripped out the airfilter that is ;) It was great, sounded good as well. I wont post pics cus you cant see any difference really.... |

3" Herrod Pipe, Into a pod in the airbox. (cut up a 3" chrome pipe, and a few flexible ends to allow it to fit and a aftermarket adaptor inside the box to allow the stainless piping inside the box to hook up to the maf)
This is our old EF Ghia -

Hey Stevo Thats a great Idea with the XR vent.
One question, is it sealed between the vent and the box? Where did you get the scoop thats moulded on the vent? inside the front bar (Airbox side) there is the brake thingy (very tech) so there isnt much room to route additional pipeing for the underneath the box. Was it a crap of a job?

2) I got it off a guy called Radek, from Fordmods.. Not sure if he is still around nor not. 3) I dont have any additional piping into the bottom of the air box yet. I just have the el gt snorkel feeding into it, and the air from the bonnet scoop. The other guys on here will be able to help you with that. 4) for what i did here, took only 2 hours or so

Doesn't look too good to me, I think that may cause damage to your engine

Stevo, I like that setup! You need to get it sealed and happening properly, make the most of it ;)! Wouldn't mind trying to duplicate that kind of idea with the scoops on the XC
Otherwise neb's idea looks the goods!!!

metal intake is not good it heats up more than plastic which then heates the air going into the engine more than plastic which then makes the engind loose power so instead of getting metal why not get EL Air intake pipes which are just as big and plastic and use that ???????????????? :S
even tho i have the JMM pipe out of the airbox to the first elbow but its not over the engine.

This is mine, one piece of it at least
http://www.fordforums.com.au/photos/...cat=500&page=1 The AU TE50 snorkel plus the pipe; which is double constructed PVC 3" piping. The other invisible mod is, 2x 90mm hole drilled and nicely meshed off in the front and qtr panel side of the air box - Niko has seen it, nicely hidden and colour coded to the box so you wont even pick it. I find it too be very very effective. In the process of making a 3" stainless steel pipe to replace the PVC.
